Looks like it'll be heading our way near the end of February. They released a new trailer that's attached to the article, as well as the official box art:
Holy shit that box art looks ugly with the bright blue PS4 thing plastered on it.
That trailer looks visually good but I don't like it's tone. The visuals are spot on Thief and awesome, but I don't want them to turn Garret into a hero nor the game into a epic struggle between the forces of good and evil. Also I dislike the new voice for Garret.
I'll fucking rage if people start saying ITS A DISHONORED RIP OFF because it's Thief: UPRISING and not Thief 4, so people don't know it's actually the 4th game in the series.
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box
Thief The Dark Project is my favorite game of all time. So I have some measure of interest in this new game. However, I would be a lot more excited if this game (and the last) were made by Looking Glass. That said, I understand that new people can bring new ideas and reinvigorate old designs. So I'll go with "cautiously curious" towards this latest entry in my beloved series.

$10 reviewers will start the trend first with the comparisons everywhere.

Yeah, it's already started unfortunately. But Eidos Montreal must've expected the comparisons to some degree, being that they're rebooting one of the original stealth franchises not long after it's spiritual successor (Dishonored) was released. Like, Menegrothx said, I just hope that people come to realize that Thief inspired Dishonored, not the other way around.

I just don't know. Batman Bale voice for Jensen aside and the story going to crap towards the end, these devs did a good job with Deus Ex HR when many doubted them. But this... it's just too in your face for Thief. I'm going to be sad if Dishonored turns out better. Not that I dislike Dishonored, but the powers stripped it away of some really good stealth potential. Otherwise, it was quite a very slow and monotone game... which is exactly how Thief should be too. The crumbling buildings and explosions at the end there had me rolling my eyes.
The voice definitely bothers me the most. What's worse is that Russel is still active (did some voice work in Skyrim), and you can obviously tell this new guy is trying to do the same thing he did... but it doesn't work. Garret was so utterly cynical yet elegant and confident in his abilities. In terms of voice acting, Russel's acting for Garret is probably one of the best and most believable anti-hero performances ever. As if that weren't enough, he also did an insane job with Karras in Thief 2, the main villain. To masterfully play both the hero and villain of the same game is just hilariously crazy.
Is Russell too busy? Does he demand too much? Why they don't bring him back for this while getting someone else to try and force the same kind of performance and acting is beyond me.
