Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate - Wii U/3DS

How do I start a quest while in a party? I've been trying over and over by myself since I have it for 3DS and WiiU. Joining the same game is no issue, but I can't figure out how to have them be in the same quest.

Edit: figured it out finally. Cool. Just wanted to know for when I play over my friends.

I'm currently loving the longswords. I prefer the weapons that allow me to keep mobility at a maximum for the time being however I think once I get armor that will allow me to tank more effectively I'll be leaning more towards great swords. I tried gunslinger but none of the weapons really allowed me to have enough control. Maybe I just hadn't got my control scheme right.
