Except you have to get up and go to the store to buy a CD or order it online and wait for it to show up, you don't have to that at when you're at your computer or on your Smart Phone and downloading MP3s. That's the convenience I'm talking about.

And like I said, I don't agree with it. I would rather have a physical copy because I'm a collector. I'm just saying I see why.
Yea, a lot of us on this forum are collectors. At least of games. Some of us for all sorts of things. Personally, I am trying to break the collecting habit and just keep my favorites and sell/give away everything else. Not that collecting is a bad habit. But I think that I personally would be better off without having tons of stuff lining my shelves.

It has taken me awhile to come around to buying MP3s. I've never liked to pirate music because I feel it's unfair to the artists that I love. They deserve a few bucks for their work, and I love CDs. It's just that my love for CDs has left me with little shelf space. I now have to consider getting rid of a CD if I'm going to buy a new one because there just isn't much room left. I've taken to buying the CDs I most care about collecting and just buying others in MP3 format.

After receiving my parent's record collection it's been a while since I've listened to pop(ular) music. My favorite new/old music would be Milt Jackson recordings. Can't get enough of it.

The Residents are all over the musical map. This album is mostly experimental/ambient kind of sounds, but it's really good.
I didn't know they had a new album out this year! I'll have to check it out. I LOVE The Residents.

Have you seen their box set? http://pitchfork.com/news/48852-the-res ... 0-box-set/

If any of you guys have a few extra thousand dollars you're not using, maybe I could pick this up!

My favorite album of 2012 is MONO's "For My Parents"
It's a bit different from what they usually do, but still great.
If you like post-rock, check them out.
Don't confuse them with the British band of the same name.

I saw them live twice this year, once in San Francisco, and again in Tokyo.

wow, I haven't kept up with them, but I've been a casual fan since I was in Jr. High. I've never been obsessive, but I'll grab certain albums that interest me by them.

That Resident's box set in the refridgerator is hilarious, as is the $5 million dollar box.

I checked out some samples of the new album and it sounds pretty good. I've also been a passing fan of their for a long time. I love their music videos and have the Icky Flix collection. There's some weird vibe that all their music has that nobody else captures. It's sort of a nauseating weird feeling though, so maybe others don't try for that.

No Aesop Rock "Skelethon"? I only just heard some of it, so it's not on my list either, but I'm a long time Aes fan.
