Man Rising Star would see rising profits if they brought this over here.
Or just more Cave games stand alone. I picked up Akai Katana recently and its pretty damn awesome. I should play more Deathsmiles as well...I would probably have Deathsmiles II if you could use XBLA points for it :/

NES, SNES, PS1, N64, DC, PS2, GCN, Wii, PS3, 360, GB, GBC, GBA, GBA SP, PSP 3000, and 3DS XL

the first Deathsmiles is so much better than the second.

I don't own a single one of these at this time so I'll definitely be picking this up.

If it goes region-free I'll buy it no question.
IF I can ever get a working Jp console, I'd buy it too. I don't have the Dod games or Deathsmiles II or Espgaluda, or Mushi/Pink Sweets, plus with all the extra DVDs and books it would be a great package for me (and be a good justification for buying a Jp console in the first place - lol)
I'll be keeping an ear out for this.

Would they? The pragmatic side of me feels like if there was a profitable market here, we would see these releases more often. Are any of these localizing publishers (D3, rising star, UFO) doing a better job than Working Designs did?

Better than WD is not hard when it comes to shooters. THey were amazing with RPGs, but totally ruined Silhouette Mirrage, didn't port Thunder Force V that well, and didn't do anything spectacular with RayCrisis. I love Working Designs, but XS even did a better job of localizing shooters imo.
Did UFO handle the Raiden Fighters Aces port? If so than they are leagues ahead of WD. That is, to me, top 3 ports of an arcade game. It has every option you could want, including resolution/scanline options. Its top notch, as good as Mushi Futari.
Also, it appears that this collection will not come with a physical version of Guwange, but a DLC code instead. I know this will be a deal-breaker for some, so its unfortunate.
