Why does it seem that nobody involved is on the same page (ie. Rice, Clinton, Carney, Obama)? What is the reason for going to LV for a campaign event, rather than investigating? I'm hoping we hear more answers surrounding this at the last presidential debate.
Okay, pop quiz: Prior to last month, who here even knew what country Benghazi was in much less that it was a thing that was?

Intelligence is a weird thing. You can't just walk over to a computer and push the button to get "intel". In a country like Libya, everything we know or learn has to come through a network of informants and experts on the ground. A sudden development like the attack on our mission in Benghazi is not something that can be 100% understood right away, especially in the wake of wide spread Muslim protest over the "Innocence of Muslims".

So yes, it took the Obama administration a minute to figure out what was going on. Guess what? I took the Romney campaign some time, too.

I'd be happy to sub in George Will. Three of the most brilliant minds i've been exposed to.

@Colin, i'll hit you up PM style for more eventful discourse.
You need to be exposed to more minds.

And don't take it to PM, please, I think all interested parties deserve to see the discussion play out.
We're PM'ing baby shower details and best boutiques on the Riverwalk. I can't imagine there are other interested parties.

Stark is wanting to discuss Benghazi, where this all started, which I respect.

Syria would need a thread.

Moral authority would need (2) threads.

Obama performance would need a thread.

Obama v Romney would need a thread.

Without that, we're going to all argue around each other and go after different points, often not the primary point we're making. I'm happy to partake in other threads, or let this return to Benghazi and participate in that.

I certainly didn't. Sorry if I came off accusatory, but this is how I see the questions as a layperson.

Do we know what our mission in Benghazi was?

Our "mission" in Benghazi was our diplomatic facility that was not a full fledged embassy.

The thread is a "ticked off...political offshoot" - so that's pretty broad...

You'd lose more if you didn't know what "Like a Virgin" was really about.
