Re: Poll: who are you voting for this year?
If I worked with Obama, I'd tell him to move on from the debate. Things like this make him seem petty and bitter and the media is not going to react well to it.

The debate last night seems to have been a wash. Ryan's explanations were weak and Biden acted like a troll.
Then again, who really expects much out of the vice-presidential debates?

The majority of my friends think Biden crushed Ryan. To me Biden came off as a total high school jack ass. All the sneers, the laughing, the interruptions, the "my friend over here"...BoringSupreez wrote:The debate last night seems to have been a wash. It all seemed very juvenile.
And Ryan looked like a duck out of water, but he did keep his composure.
If I was an outsider looking in, I would think America is full of assholes who can't behave civilly. Watching the vp "debate" I felt embarrassed for our country.
Re: Poll: who are you voting for this year?
You're just now realizing this? Personally, I'd rather have our debates err on the side of them being jackasses, instead of being overly polite. At least when they act like jackasses you get the sense that they're actually having an argument, rather than just giving two speeches.Luke wrote:If I was an outsider looking in, I would think America is full of assholes who can't behave civilly.

Of course not, but now more than ever.MrPopo wrote: You're just now realizing this?
The fact there was so much disrespect during the "debate" made my skin crawl. High school kids running for class President show more class than Biden and Paul.
Billions of dollars to campaign, and not a penny going towards the deficit. But "Ain't that America?". It's as annoying as that Alica Keys song where all she does is repeat the word Fire.
Re: Poll: who are you voting for this year?
High school kids also get bad debate grades if they lie half as much as Ryan did. Biden might tend towards impoliteness, but give the disrespect Ryan was showing voters it didn't bother me in the least.Luke wrote:Of course not, but now more than ever.MrPopo wrote: You're just now realizing this?

I am in this camp, but I agree that the debate was more like verbal sparring. I think that Ryan went in with the goal of monopolizing as much speaking time as possible and Joe Biden (or "Old Uncle Joe", as my wife and I refer to him) recognized the strategy and shut him down effectively. It may have seemed "rude" but acting politely did not work so well for Obama during the last debate...Luke wrote:The majority of my friends think Biden crushed Ryan.
EDIT: Also, The Onion - continuing a fine tradition - posted no less than seven excellent Joe Biden articles today. It was like Christmas in October!

I live in Utah. It's going to be a freaking wash. I'll be voting for Gary Johnson come November. Whether or not he's going to win, I'd rather vote with what my conscience tells me. Someone would have a hard time convincing me that restricting my vote to either Obama or Romney would make my vote count more.BoringSupreez wrote: Texas has voted for Democrats plenty of times. It's not like you guys live in Utah.
I'm very much against Obama. The last 4 years have left me feeling very betrayed. Candidate Obama was a completely different person than President Obama. Even so, I preferred Obama's performance in the first debate. Romney came across as so rude (to me personally). I was stunned to hear how many people liked that. I will not vote for either of those men, so I guess it may just be that I'm not their audience.

A politician, lying? Heavens no. And if the USA needs to rely on Biden, God help us.
