breath away. How that isn't on my list makes me feel shame. And to add, a big fuck you to me and everyone too for not having GHOSTBUSTERS on their list. The hell is wrong with us?
However I applaud everyone who has posted on this thread for not including any of the SCARY MOVIE "movies" although a buddy of mine was a writer for Scary Movie 2 (doesn't change the fact it sucks).
This thread has my "horror movie gerbil wheel" turning. I remember enjoying SAW when it was released. Nothing special, but something a bit different. Not sure if it is worth another watch or not. Loved some FT13th, but again, worth revisiting?
The O.G Chainsaw Massacre held up last time I watched it. Pan's Labyrinth isn't necessary a horror film, but damn if it isn't creepy (added to my viewing list).

Close call on that one. All up to artistic interest I think as the stories are nearly verbatim.
Around the same time THE GRUDGE came out and I was not a fan. I think a bunch of SMG fans latched onto the film just to see her tease. That, or maybe I missed something. It didn't seem original (well, again another adaption), well directed, or well acted.

yeah. I can see that.
I love The Ring. Actually a rare example of a remake I think is great, as I thought it was was better than Ringu. Too bad the second American film is crap.
That is what I heard, but I will have to see the original sometime to make a comparison. I understand that they are both solid films.
Also, I agree with Luke...The Grudge while not terrible, really is not that good. I also hear that the American remake of Pulse is absolutely horrid. I think that the U.S. version of The Ring might be tainted by association (both to those movies and its terrible, terrible sequels...).

I actually prefer Ju-On to The Grudge, though I was a little surprised at how at times they felt exactly the same, so if nothing else, Raimi did his homework.
I suppose now is a bad time to admit that I have never seen Ringu or The Ring, though I have seen The Ring 2 and beaten the craptastic Dreamcast game.

Based on your review, I think that if I played through that game, I would probably skip the movies too...

Pulse is Kairo without the subtext of isolation, depression and computers and to compensate that... the star is Kristen Bell

. It's absolutely horrendous.
The american remakes of One Missed Call and Shutter are absolute anus as well.

Actually I am curious about them, since I have seen so many people rave over them.

I really like Pulse. But... I might be biased. :\

I can see the appeal for some, but THE GRUDGE qualifies as "not good" for me.
Moving on...
Hey Noise! Any recommendations on awfulsome/awesomeful Horror movies? BONES? LEPRECHAUN IN THE HOOD?

Bones is awesome. Leprechaun in the Hood is terrible.
But first things first, have you seen Troll 2? If you haven't -- any of you reading this thread -- then OMG, you have no idea the terrible awesomeness that awaits you.
The first time we watched it, it ended like this:
"Wow that was the worst movie ever!"
"I know!"
"Watch it again?"
"Now???"
"Yeah, right now."
"Yes!!!"
