Master System: Not for me? Or am I just not "getting" it?
Re: Master System: Not for me? Or am I just not "getting" it
Dang... guess I'll retract my recommendation on the SMS Sonic's.

You should check the thread where I ask people to recommend me platformers.AppleQueso wrote:I think Yancakes is the pickiest gamer since General_Norris

Ys is indeed very good if you like Zelda-type games. It's only 5-10 hours (probably more like 5), so it's not really that time consuming. Still... the TG-CD version of Ys destroys the SMS version. Then there are also more modern versions on the DS and PSP (also PC-88, MSX, Famicom, PC and Saturn if you don't mind playing in Japanese). Honestly, I say get the TG-CD or PSP version. You might like the SMS version, but there are better versions out there.Yancakes wrote:YS and Phantasy Star I will look in to after I have spent more time with Golden Axe Warrior, as all three of these are potentially really time consuming games. They both look like games I would enjoy, though.
Phantasy Star is great if you like old school RPGs like Dragon Warrior II-IV and Final Fantasy.
I'm still going to push Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap on you, if you still haven't tried it.

OK... I'm picky
but I usually get called picky for not liking Halo. I don't think I'm all that bad though!
Also, how on earth do you pronounce Ys?
Hmmm... a buddy of mine has a turboduo and a fairly extensive library. I might see about spending some time over at his place if he has Ys.Breetai wrote: Ys is indeed very good if you like Zelda-type games. OK, I've always liked the main theme from Sonic, but the stage music I've never been able to get in to. But Sonic falls squarely into the style of games that I've NEVER been able to get in to.pierrot wrote:Whoa! That is some scandalous ass shit.
