Nintendo has really been churning out the mario recently. 3d land and NSMB 2 for the brand new 3ds, Galaxy 1, 2, and NSMB for the wii, and already a launch 2d mario game for the wiiu.

Out of the box, I wiiu will be able to play 4 main-series mario titles. unprecedented.

Please don't put the Galaxy games in the same category as the new (*cough*, now there's some irony) super mario bros series

It was a joke about how innovative the galaxy series is and how stale the "new" series is.

PS1: Plastic components melting due to overheating
PS2: Overheating leading to fire hazard
PS3: YLOD
360: RROD

There are others, I'm sure, but I'm personally going to wait for at least the 2nd generation of Wii-U consoles before I take the risk to buy one.

Except this is a Nintendo product. My launch NES, SNES, N64, Gamecubes, and Wii, all still work fine.

Yes but the Wii was the first system that had a noteworthy problem; the wifi component would heat up and slowly, partially destroy the GPU. It was remedied quickly though.

(Interesting side note, my US launch GC had the same case of the pixels that a burned out Wii GPU gets and my JP launch Wii would freeze intermittently and randomly and make a loud squelch right outta the box - both systems were replaced within days by Nintendo however.)

I got your joke/comment. Though if you find the "new" series stale, maybe you should take a break from playing the 2D versions?
That said, I do wanna play NSMBU or SMG3. :D

I'm definitely interested, but I never buy a console at launch. I always wait for the library to thicken out a little and for used consoles to become available at a little lesser price.

New Super Mario Bros. U, Zombie U, and Rayman: Legends all look awesome. And they're promising that Batman Arkham City: Armored Edition is gonna have enough content added to it that it will entice those that already own the game, even.I've also heard that it's debuting at a low price of $249.99, which is pretty dang good compared to the launch prices of XBox 360 or PS3.

Once the library is more established, I'll definitely pick one up.

I also got the wii day one. I camped outside bestbuy waited 28 hours for it and walked out with wii, legend of zelda tp and red steel. Everyone came by screaming out the window wii sucks and calling us losers and such. I just laughed i was the loser waiting for a game system yet they had enough freetime to drive by at 2am to mock us. Can you say never gets laid.

That system took a year before anyone could find one while the ps3 was over priced and at that time lacking quite a bit.

I love nintendo so I will buy day 1 at lauch. It's been a custom of mine since i was young to get every sega and nintendo system at lauch

'Sonic All-Stars Racing: Transformed' is slated for a Q4 2012 Wii-U release as well.

I know the original is already out on PS3/360 but I haven't played it yet, and from the reviews I've read it could be a pretty fun new title to play around launch time. I'm also hoping that ZombiU turns out to be good but haven't seen much info on it.
