Why do people eat out at McDonalds?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

That isn't always great if you're the only person in the household. Going the other direction and only buying fresh stuff I'm going to eat in a day or two means going to the grocery store constantly. I can't take turns or share with someone else to make dinner and clean up afterwards, and that tends to make me lazy. Some stuff you can make a bunch and freeze some for a later day, some things you can't. If I make a pot of stew, I'm kinda sick of it after having it for dinner on the 4th day. I know I'm making excuses, but things like that contribute to me eating lazy food.
Exactly.

When I was still at school and lived by myself the only thing I bought fresh were things that I knew I was going to eat soon (like a head of lettuce) or things I knew were going to keep for more than a couple of days (apples). Anything else I avoided because I knew I wasn't going to eat it fast enough and I didn't like the feeling of wasting money if it went bad. My dinners usually consisted of sandwiches, spaghetti, and vegetable soup, and when it came to the later two I usually made enough for 3-4 days because I usually didn't have time to make anything else.

It's just a matter of needing something different. As long as you don't go overboard and eat it every day, you'll be fine. As it's already been said, everything in moderation :D
The one exception was I did allow myself to go to the school food court on Friday nights and buy myself a burger. Other than that I ate pretty healthy, still do really (some people complained about the "Freshman 15", but I actually lost weight while I was in school), but I tell you what, I looked forward to that burger, curly fries and drink every damned week.

I feel like I have more to add to the conversation of the quality of fast food chains in general but in a thread with people openly willing to literally eat shit I don't think there's much I can say.

I only eat McDonald's maybe once or twice a year. As long as one understands that it is not really good for one to eat it every week They are fine. The main problem I have with Mcdonads is that is is so processed that it goes straight through me in no time. I feel sluggesh fterwards and have too poop fierce like. Which means my body does not extract much if any nutrients from it which is why after I get it I am hungry again within an hour or so. This alone is a sign that I should not eat it because healthy food balanced with fat Carbohydrates protein and fiber will keep you full longer. McDonald tastes good but there is little nutritional value in it. I am not against it I just know to have it in moderation.

Okay, this is interesting.

We have a thread about fast food in the Games As Culture section that includes people arguing that McDonalds isn't cheap, people talking about eating poop, and a vegan who craves McNuggets. Yet I'll chime in.

The answer is obvious, it's cheap, convenient and some even find it delicious. For my entire life, McDonald's has been a place to get something quick and fast during a road trip or a place to visit when a Big Mac attack occurs. From the people who stand on Burger King lettuce, to the quality of the food, I try to avoid fast food (well all junk food including soda).

Disagree with Michi and Hobes though. You can save a lot of money and eat a lot healthier buy doing weekly grocery shopping if you plan well. You can buy a quarter pound of ground beef for one meal. And with proper storage you can keep veggies easily for at least a week. You can have a great dinner for one for around $4.00, and eat healthy at the same time. I'd even plan a menu for a week if you'd like me to, nothing I haven't done hundreds of times before. Your grocery bill also starts to sink lower and lower because you will have left over staples like stock, eggs, spices, etc.

Nothing against people that eat junk food everyday, you like what you like and eat what you like. Plus fast food provides an option for people who can only afford a $1.00 dinner.

Meat is already pretty disgusting. I mean, we take this giant filthy drooling creature, kill it, slice its skin off, pop out its organs, gush the blood out on the ground, chop up its muscles, heat up the muscle slabs and ingest them.

If I'm willing to eat that...fully knowing the thing may have been on steroids and other crap...

Don't add to my problems by pretending my past views are still held in the present. I do not have any patience for that. Feel free to ask me what I think now.

You asked a stupid question yet feel uneasy about an answer that sounds as stupid. Go figure.
