I wonder if this incident will help the ticket sales.
(edit: And for Imbecile Joe: No, I'm not minimizing the people who got hurt/killed. I seriously would like to know how something like this affects the sales.)

Re: Shooting in Colorado showing of The Dark Knight Rises
Where did I make any statement to the effect of anyone deserving to die? I guess people failed to understand what I was getting at. You commented that movies are supposed to be a place of relaxation. I was pointing out that the movie was rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action. I am sure that there are lots of people who would not find "intense scenes of violence" relaxing. I merely used the rating for the movie that was being discussed.AppleQueso wrote:What the fuck are you even trying to get at with this? Definitely the last place I would expect something like this to happen.
Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action
Yep, real relaxing.
That's a pretty fucked up post to make. Seriously.

So what? You can't relax and enjoy an action film or horror film?
I'm sorry, I don't see what it has to do with the issue at hand. Going LOL HOW CAN THEY RELAX IT'S AN ACTION MOVIE is just... dumb, honestly.

Personally, I got to the movies to be entertained, not to relax. If I go to an action movie, I expect to be excited. If I see a horror, I expect it to be intense and to make me a little jumpy.
If I want to relax I'll read a book or turn off all the electronics in my room and sit down with a pair of headphones and listen to music.
Again, I think I see the point, it's just that it needed to be delivered in a more sensitive manner. I didn't get the feeling he was mocking anyone who was in the theatre.

Re: Shooting in Colorado showing of The Dark Knight Rises
I saw an 8 year old at a Deep Purple concert once. Poor kid was really starting to doze off near the end. My guess is parents want to see the movie and it's really hard to find a sitter for so late at night. And I'm sure the kid is a fan of Batman anyway.ZeroAX wrote:EDIT

I know it's a horrible thing, but death of kids makes me so sad, I can't just stop thinking if the parents hadn't brought her with them she'd still be alive. Though if I think that, I can't imagine how devastated the parents must be right now

Re: Shooting in Colorado showing of The Dark Knight Rises
I am glad that someone else understands what I was trying for. I was commenting on the concept of "scenes of intense violence" being "relaxing". If that relaxes someone, I am not sure I want to know that they are needing to relax from. For relaxation, I would figure that most people, if going to a movie, would go for a comedy or maybe a romance.Michi wrote:I think I get what Jimmy is trying to say.AppleQueso wrote:So what? I meant no offense to anyone, I was strictly looking at the concept as an oxymoron.
