Did you listen to I am the walrus or helter skelter? Helter skelter is basically heavy metal. Sgt. Pepper's lonely hearts club band (the song) is pretty rocking too.

I am the walrus
Helter Skelter
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band just the 1st track here.

I see what your saying, but I still don't have a chord struck. I just currently don't like them.

I say currently because my tastes do change. Assuming my friends or a girl I might be close to (haha, just kidding, that won't happen) happen to like a band or genre I'm not into, I'll try the waters.

Currently though, I still find the Beatles crap. I'd rather listen to Buddy Holly or Elvis.

The urge to chime in is killing me.....

Ok, I will just say this, name me one other band that has a weekly radio show (The Beatle Years) that still runs new episodes 40 odd years after their last original release. (I dont count Free as a Bird).

Thinking...................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... nope, I just cannot think of a single one. Remember these guys were doing this in an era where they didnt show Elvis below the waste. What they did went so far beyond the music as to almost cause the music itself to be secondary.

To call The Beatles "Crap" isn't a smart thing to do, but I'm on record saying I'm not a huge fan.

I think Beiber's music is something that would stick to my shoe, but at the end of our lives, he's richer than we'll collectively ever be, and producers believe in both his looks and musical chops.

Just don't think it's smart to call any music "crap" when obviously almost every person on Earth at least recognizes it (like it or loathe it).

That said, I know from the "what are you listening to" thread that my musical tastes are a bit different.

Back on topic, my Father has several unopened Beatles LP's (also a Cheech and Chong album that has one HUGE rolling paper included) that I'm thinking about framing.

Not sure if they're worth anything, but I'll do some digging to see if the albums are worth a penny or two.

I'm not a huge beatles fan myself, but I do like some of their songs.

Just another thing to throw up in the air, the lyrics to Imagine aren't exactly my favorite.

Well, that's not the Beatles so much as John Lennon. The group had already broken up by then.

Just saying for the sake of information mind you, I have no interest in getting involved in whether or not you like the Beatles.

I am curious though, what is it about Imagine that bothers you?

On another note, just because I've been listening to the Beatles lately, I love Lady Madonna.

Well, every form of writing or speech can be taken differently, depending on the person. It seems like the song is trying to get a message of peace and happiness, but it comes off a bit as saying that we have to remove religion comepletely to have that happen. We've seen what happens when the faithful aren't allowed to have their religion. It generally does not end well.

Sorry, that's bothered me ever since I was old enough to understand the lyrics.

The message isn't about destroying or denying religion; it's about creating a world where it is no longer necessary. "Tradition is the tyranny of dead men."
