I think the thing is this: Yes, we know there are higher scores that exist. But the TG scores are the highest ones that were verified (a "ref" watched it happen, or watched a video tape and verified that no cheating/console-mods/etc were done to achieve the score.) These are all scores that were submitted to TG, using their strict process.
If you watch those documentaries you'll kind of get a better appreciation for TG.

But... Arcadia scores are verified IN PERSON. It just doesn't happen in America. I don't see how that isn't just as good, if not better. I'd consider it an even stricter process.
I don't mean to knock TG, honestly. I really am interested to see the films. I just could not consider a score that doesn't even reach the first extend a WR, even if its "Guiness Verified"

Well, players in Japan are way better than us. They have much better practice methods and are way more serious about scoring competitively, from what the scores show.
So, even the best players here, that accomplish some astonishing feats, really can't compare to Eastern Records (which are almost always also the World Record)
Take Dimahoo for example, our SoTM next month. The Western Record for 7 years was 17m. Someone this year broke that, with a manly 57m.
Several Eastern players have counterstopped the game at 90m. And this isn't some unheard of game, its Raizing and affordable, so almost everyone gives it a spin. The game is just so hard that most folks here can't give it the time it would take to understand the counterstop, let alone be able to perform it in a full run.
