Well played Sir.

By any chance is there a movie based SW Trilogy games vs. SW Prequel games topic? It could be possible that the prequel based games are better.
Depends on whether the KOTOR games are considered Prequel-based, or just based on the series as a whole. If they belong to the prequels, the prequel games are definitely the best. If they aren't, then the original trilogy's games pull ahead thanks to the Jedi Knight series.

Serenity really needs you to have seem a few Firefly episodes before it gets enjoyable. The original pilot gave us a good introduction to all the characters and had a small conflict (didn't she shoot you?) that got resolved. Serenity has this big sweeping culmination of the River plotline as well as a furthering of the Inara/Mal romance subplot and it suffers if you aren't already familiar with the characters. Plus, Wash's death doesn't hit nearly as hard, unless you really were a fan of Steve the Pirate.

Well stated. I like Firefly and Serenity, but Serenity isn't a great film in its own right. One of the (many) reasons that Episode III did a lot better is because many more people had seen previous Star Wars films and had interest and connection to the characters. Episode III is also a much better special effects movie, which is why most people go see sci-fi in the first place...

I unfortunately had to watch them in 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3 due to availability issues. 4, 5, 2, 3, 6 sounds like a great idea.

I hear the argument on this forum from some that Serenity is only enjoyable if you've seen the show. I don't buy it. Whedon set out to make something accessible and I had a friend who saw the movie before I did. He never saw the show and still enjoyed it. He even went to see it again and brought me along. Granted, he liked some of Whedon's other works like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but he is always honest about criticizing anything he doesn't like, regardless of who the director is, and he liked the movie

If you read many of the positive reviews the movie received, I doubt that every single one of those people had seen the show beforehand

I don't like Firefly. I didn't like the characters (it seemed like the cast of NCIS, except not solving mysteries and in space), the whole country-western vibe grated on me, and the special effects were lame.

NCIS? Really? Firefly had real characters. NCIS and other shows of its ilk are just full of stereotypes, not real people

If you don't like the country-Western vibe though, that's just taste I suppose. I never minded the quality of the effects, but Whedon shows typically get low budgets.

Protip: A lot of Sci-Fi is westerns in space. Firefly was just a little more transparent about it.

But hey, if you didn't like it, then you didn't like it. It's ok to be wrong sometimes. :P
