The Westernization of Japanese games is a disturbing trend, but I think we're going to see more and more of it.

I for one miss static camera angles.
Me too, it really helped give RE games that horror movie feel.

I think "disturbing" is a strong word. I'd really pin it all more on Capcom than anything. Sure, Konami's kinda done this too but the results from their outsourcing haven't been anywhere near this stupid and awful.

Besides, emulating Call of Duty is more like the uh Shitization of Good Games.

...you know, between this and the horrible Devil May Cry reboot, it suddenly makes a lot of sense why Capcom's pretty much abandoning Mega Man. It's too Japanese.

I don't miss the old static camera and controls at all. We had plenty of games in that style. Time to move on. Get over it. However, if this game is being helmed by the same guy who did RE 5, then I'm not getting too excited

That guy really doesn't get it. RE 5 had none of RE 4's personality and none of its originality either. He seems like a no talent hack to me who has seen one too many really bad American action movies

Well you better brace for exactly that. It doesn't get much more "bad American action movie" than RE5 and what this new trailer shows us topped off with them explicitly saying they want to reel in the Call of Duty crowd. Remember when the series had good music too? They'll probably hire Hans Zimmer for RE6. I can't remember shit from RE5's OST. Like I keep saying across the board, with Shinij Mikami gone (who didn't even bother with RE5 himself), the RE franchise may as well be dead to me now. Just like Devil May Cry with its creator gone, and now Megaman's Inafune... these franchises have fallen into the hands of people that have no idea what to do with them.

And what Wesker has a brother or something now? Wow. RE5 just didn't ruin his legacy enough I guess.

Capcom has shit for creative control thesedays and they've become the most Westernized big Japanese company for sure. It pains me a lot, I thought they were probably better than Konami, Square, and other big names last gen, but they're hands down one of the worst this gen along with Square Enix. As much as I hate to admit though, I'd probably say Capcom is even worse than SE right now and has completely lost their own identity. Their main agenda is to completely cater to the West.

Capcom up to the PS2 gen = Alien with Ridley Scott.
Capcom nowadays = Alien Resurrection.

lol.
