Are you going to hate Vita games that force you to use any control scheme besides buttons?
most likely, yes.
Another example: Oneechanbara Wii. What a stupid decision there. I can see the appeal of offering motion controls AS AN OPTION. But for anyone who had played the previous two games with a controller, and then bought this... what a letdown. It really should have offered GCN controller support. So yeah. I'm a fan of the Oneechanbara games, yet hated the Wii game.

Ditto for me but I find that I prefer the iPad over the iPod because of the screen size. Plus, you get the bonus of being able to take a break from gaming to check your email, read the news, check the forums, etc. I haven't played my DSi XL lately because of the iPad.

Wow, you are going to be really torn when you try to play UMvC3 on the Vita. Anyway, as I can see this thread is probably going to be uncontrollably derailed into a huge touch/motion controls rant, I might as well add fuel to the fire. I think that touch and motion controls can be a huge benefit to a game that is specifically built around them. There are many games that simply wouldn't be the same if they didn't utilize these control methods.
I don't really like motion controls for the most part unless they're very minor and subtle (think Mario Galaxy). However, Move and the Wiimote are great because they make FPS games actually playable on consoles.
I think a playable dreamcast emulator is the best we'll see on the Vita. I'm sure people will mess with Gamecube and Wii emulation on it, but it will run at something like 4 ~ 5 FPS and wont really be worth using on it. Of course, pretty much anything pre-dreamcast will probably be running on it at some point.
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.

The best we can probably hope for emulation on the Vita will be a port of Dolphin that runs about as well as the N64 emulator runs on the PSP. In other words, a small handful of games will run at near-full speed, a good amount will be playable, but the majority will be unplayable, or will just not run.
