You can. I have mine set to only show the buttons and not the wii remote outline, but you can get rid of even more than that too.

I was sure that Nintendo didn't think we were that retarded and this feature was strictly for the E3 demo. Nope! Apparently, gamers are so stupid that we can't remember to press 1 for our inventory and + for the map.
Are you seriously complaining about optional features?

I'm so jealous of you guys. I got it yesterday and still haven't played it yet!

I've had some sensor bar issues. I'm actually on my fifth one right now. Nintendo keeps sending me refurbished sensor bars that don't work. It's gotta be the sensor bar giving me problems because I have a brand new gold wii-mote that isn't being detected. I've tried using candles, LED lights, etc., all to no avail. My Wii is basically crippled, and it really, really sucks. I was hoping that the new wii-mote would be the solution, and it was not.

Compound that with massive work/school obligations and I'm a pretty unhappy camper! This may even be the final Nintendo product that I ever buy.

In fact, what the hell am I doing on these forums!?!?!? I have work to do. :(

That's nuts!
Yeah, but like i said, now he is away from all games for the next six months.

Despite how much I like the game, I spent the evening playing L4D2. Bad day at work means I need to kill zombies.

Im not sure skyward sword uses the sensor bar at all. If you have a classic controller, you should be able to use the analogue stick to move over to the game channel and start the game. If I'm right, you can play skyward sword without ever using the IR. It's worth a try at least.

All pointing uses the sensor bar - ie slingshot and bow

Yes, because I felt like it would be more fun to complain about the "feature" than just disable it.

I have yet to see any sort of options screen, either from the main menu, or in-game.

In game, go to your equipment screen and click on the gears (I think). Bottom left corner

One more thing, did anyone else notice that the game appears to install Netflix without even asking?

It wasn't there. Skyward Sword claims it needs to do a "system update". This update takes about 5 seconds compared to the usual minute or so that a system update takes. After I get back to the menu, Netflix is there.

What the fuck?

Obviously between shoddy 4:3 support, an obvious optional HUD. and it installing Netflix, this is the worst game ever.
