I applaud his daughter, though. As I understand it, she finally got away from him but he would still treat her like crap via phone calls. Apparently he finally went so far that she decided to settle the score.

This tape is like an atomic bomb dropped square on his career and, hopefully, his legal standing.

People who abuse others don't have brains that function period. I'm not eve going to watch the video. I don't think I could stomach it. Things like this make me physically ill.

Your statement eludes that by potentially needing to raise your voice the child(ren) in your care are misbehaving? Is raising your voice a bad thing? Oh right, children have the right to exercise their free will without any guidance. I don't know if you're an educator, therapist or what, but I for one believe a child needs guidance and even correction in the form of discipline. Long gone are the days when Johnny's teacher called mom and dad about Johnny's behavior. Now the parents and children form an alliance to overthrow the teachers, or anyone else in position of authority for that matter. When I was in the Army we used to say, "Too many chiefs and not enough Indians." *sigh* You get the idea.

No. Judge Adams made a choice to lash out in anger, and now, evidently, his daughter is reaping the emotional scars. It appears that perhaps this incident was a delayed problem that had been stewing, and instead of implementing careful, loving disciplinary measures, he simply exploded. I don't believe a child should be "beaten" but I do believe that child needs his or her will broken, and if that means the old belt, then so be it.

My pops would have got his ass whupped had he tried to give me the belt at sixteen, but only a sick fuck would strike his cerebal palsy having daughter. That video sure is polarizing, not that anyone defends the judge, but whether or not what he did is a capital crime. What he and his wife did was despicable, but putting food on the table and a roof over their daughter has to count for something when calling for his head. I don't wish death upon the guy, but i'd get a satisfying workout being locked in a room with him for ten minutes. Hope the daughter moves forward and dad is disgraced and does some jail time.

Is this an isolated incident? Does it matter? Maybe. I don't know. I don't believe the courts have the right to intervene in this. Again, I do NOT condone the father's actions.

I hate to tell you Popo, but I come from a long lineage of children on the receiving end of a belt. I sincerely believe today's children disciplined in this "time out" generation are given far too much rope. Our country is running rampant with rebellious, self-willed brats. Undoubtedly, a spanking inflicts pain. But does that make it wrong? I remeber my mother spanking me and then hiding away in her room to cry. I truly believe a parent that loves their child will, if need be punish them in other ways than a scolding for correction. I think I have your answer. I don't expect with the majority of the board to agree with me on this either, and that's fine. Personally, I fear for your kids more than my own.
