I would be very excited and interested, if Blizzard announced a game of a new franchise or even a sequel for the older console games. Titan or WC4 don't count. I can't see it happening before D3 and SC2 expansions and Titan have been released and there's been some time after that, so I'm not keeping hopes up.

Yes they will.

Yes they will.
Activision only published Alundra 2, any blame for using the name for an unrelated game calls squarely on the Japanese developers, not Activision.
