Got a ticket for the stupidest thing today.

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

These give you a simulated impact of 5-8 MPH. It is surprising how much of a jerk you get at such a low speed when a vehicle suddenly stops. Depending on how things happen, an impact of a little as 30 MPH can kill of severely mess you up. Unless you're driving a trailer queen in a parade you really should have a seat belt on, and even then it is probably a good idea.

Here's a pic of what a '66 Corvair convertible looks like:

Pretty nice looking car.

*pukes* Well, I didn't actually puke, but that car is fugly. Not as ugly as an Edsel, but I'd rather ride a bike than drive "that...thing" (that's a nerdy SW reference).

That said, it's all up to personal taste, so if you dig it, drive it and love it. Hell, my dream car is a 1932 Ford Roadster and most people think it looks like a heap of junk.

Anybody who calls that a heap of junk has no taste.

Looks like something Phantom Limb would drive, while I can see Brock Samson driving the 1966 Corvair.

Both cars are great, but two totally different machines.

Uh, are you referring to the Ferrari or the Ford?

Don't hate on the corvair. It's always been one of those very niche cars and i adore mine. I get about 28 mpg in it and it is fun to cruise in. I get an unbelievable amount of of thumbs up and compliments for mine. I don't really care for my safety. If i'm ejected from my car then that just really sucks for me. I grew up in the seat of a 1960 El Camino with no seatbelts. And was in a wreck with my mother in it. But the point is. I refuse to put seat belts in a car that came out of the factory without them. EVERYTHING about the car is just the way it came when it rolled off the assembly line. Stupid? Eh, probably...But Legal? Don't argue with the safety side of it. I know the risks associated and simply don't care. Now if i had Children you better believe i would put seatbelts in that car.....Or sell it....

Yes. I was a little pissed off. I don't know what i was saying about the age thing is, that if the cop had been older i doubt he would have written a ticket for me. The cop that stopped me couldn't have been any older than me. I don't really have any hard feelings towards him because he seemed newer. But the problem is, in Henderson there are maybe 4 cops on duty at any time. Which mean that i will probably see him on a daily basis since Henderson is so small.

Personal opinions aside. It is fucked up to get a ticket for not doing anything illegal. As for putting pics up i actually don't have a digital camera but i will get some with my iphone sometime soon.

Cars made before 68 are grandfathered in with no seatbelts in TN. No this was my first offense not wearing a seat-belt. The fine varies from city to city. In Henderson it's 20$ for a first time offense. 10 miles down the road in Jackson it is 10$. I am so totally college hipster. but no really, i'm closer to a redneck then anything. I hate to attach that to myself, but for many of you my overall wearing self would look like a redneck! The reason i bought it was because my dad's friend died of a heart attack and his wife didn't want it. I got it on the cheap in great condition. Plus i was shopping around for an older car with better gas mileage then my 78 El Camino gets. So now just really use my El Camino for farm work

. I do use my Corvair as a daily driver. It's just something about old cars that make me happy. They do have a distinct personality. I hate when people just store cars and only use them for shows. If you own it, why not use it?
