So does The Fresh Prince, Spongebob (albeit at a faster pace), and well, pretty much like the pic said, every TV show ever. I don't know what it is about the 5th season, but it always seems to mark the beginning of mediocrity for a show. At the moment, I can't think of a single show with full-length seasons who's 5th season was as good as the previous ones.Ack wrote:X-Files comes to mind for that one.Betamax001 wrote:Image

EVERY season of The Wire was television gold, and I'd stack up it's fifth and final season against any of its previous seasons. Best. Show. Ever.BoringSupreez wrote:So does The Fresh Prince, Spongebob (albeit at a faster pace), and well, pretty much like the pic said, every TV show ever. The Simpsons? Season 5 was one of the high points.BoringSupreez wrote:So does The Fresh Prince, Spongebob (albeit at a faster pace), and well, pretty much like the pic said, every TV show ever. The progression is drawn out for the Simpsons. They didn't become crappy until Season 9 or 10, depending on where you draw the line.
Star Trek TNG remained high quality until the end (7 seasons). In fact, the two part series finale is one of the best episodes.

I still can't believe they tried to carry on for a full season without David Duchovny or Gillian Anderson. What were they thinking?!Ack wrote: X-Files comes to mind for that one.
That reminds me though, David Duchovny's latest show, Californication, is fanfuckingtastic! (and yes, it needs the curse word in there)

Meaning that David Duchovny is actually fucking the fans of his show? I wouldn't be surprised.

Re: American SitComs
Moving it to Sunday didn't help either. Friday night had turned into gathering at my apartment for X-Files and anime. Sunday was always time to be holed up in the lab finishing stuff that was due Monday that I should have been working on all weekend. Between the fact I was always busy and the quality of the show had really gone down I just stopped watching altogether.Ack wrote:X-Files comes to mind for that one.Betamax001 wrote:Image

I forgot about the Simpsons. I don't watch that show, so I don't even know which season it went bad in. All's I know is that an episode called The Principle and the Pauper is supposed to mark the beginning of the end. At least, that's what Simpsons fans have told me.AppleQueso wrote:The Simpsons? That's a shame. Seasons 3-8 are simply some of the finest works of comic art Western civilization has ever produced.BoringSupreez wrote: I forgot about the Simpsons. I don't watch that show, so I don't even know which season it went bad in.
