Wasn't the pink one in Sonic CD though? The game that every one praises as one of the best 2D Sonic games.

And on that note, I don't see what's so great about Sonic CD. I've played all the way through it once. The level designs are kinda interesting, but not any where near as good/fun as the Sonic games on the Genesis.

But yeah, I always turn Tails off. I don't even make an attempt at getting the emeralds in Sonic 2, but even still, Tails is still really annoying to play with. Like when you're about to jump on an enemy, and while you're in the air, tails kills the enemy. Stuff like that. Probably above all else, he's a really annoying distraction.

I agree.

Haters!

I love Tails, and I never remove him in any game. If I break up the Sonic and Tails team, its because I'm playing as Tails.

I also actually like a lot of the extended cast. Cream infuriates me (hearing her voice is like having an icepick stabbed into my ears), but beyond that I like pretty much all of them.

Amy Rose played the role of the damsel in distress in that game; she's not an important character at all.
Sonic CD is sort of a flawed masterpiece; it's a look into what could have been.

Sheesh, what's with all the dislike for Sonic CD? That's my all-time favorite Sonic game. The one Sonic game that got a non-Dr. Robotnick villain right. The one with 2 great soundtracks. Plus, it had that cool peel-out move that the other games never used, for some odd reason. And it was super-fast, even for a Sonic game.

I don't hate tails, I'll play as him alone in Sonic 2 or Sonic 3 & Knuckles. It's just that when he's computer controlled, he's a huge pain in the ass for the reasons I've described.

BTW, if you like Tails so much, you should check these out:

Play as Tails in Sonic 1: http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/389/

Have tails follow Knuckles in S3&K: http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/177/

At least one of the Game Gear games uses it. Although maybe we'd all rather forget about that...

When I talk about Sonic games, I usually forget the GG ones even exist. I hated every one of those games.

Nah, Sonic Chaos isn't too damn bad; it's just too easy. If Sega cranked up the difficulty just a bit, they would have made a damn fine Game gear title.

I don't dislike Sonic CD. I like it for trying a few new things with the Sonic formula. I'm just sayin' that it can't touch Sonic & Knuckles.
