Re: Cancelled games that you wish were released
I've probably played it more than most. It's terribly unfinished, yes. It never even got to proper beta stage. It's more like a pre-alpha proof of concept. The only even properly playable action area is the castle stage (the dark one, not the castle town). The other action areas you can get to are about as playable as the axed levels from the Sonic 2 betas, and we know how well those represent the finished game.brunoafh wrote:flamepanther wrote:Jazz Jackrabbit 3
Dude, did you play the beta? It's absolutely terrible. Complete disgrace to the awesome series.
That one castle area though... that showed some real potential. They needed to increase the sense of speed, for sure, but considering the game had barely been started, they would have had lots of time to work on that if the project had been given the green light. Worst case scenario, it still would have been better than the GBA game.

Essentially Space Harrier with a Fantasy Zone theme and a life bar. I think you can download the rom of it though.
Yeah, the game was completed and dumped. Unfortunately, while it isn't bad, it isn't that great at all. The only reason why people have heard of it is because of its fame as an unreleased game from a cult franchise that looked pretty good in screenshots. If it had actually been released, it probably would faded into greater obscurity.

Cancelled because SEGA made the one guy working on it burn out by repeatedly switching crap up causing most already developed and coded work to be thrown out. Ironically enough, this guy is on his own finishing up the game as a tribute to his lost work.
Is this true? Is this guy really workig on the game?
I wish Resident Evil 0 came out on the 64. The videos i saw looked awesome.
Also i remember back, way back in Nintendo Power talks of a N64 Final Fantasy. Just imagine if that would of happened. Could of swore there was a screen shot or two of the 3D characters.
Yes. But the FF n64 game was just a tech demo of Cecil, Edge, and Rydia fighting in as a proof-of-concept.
Also..
In early January 2006, the game's director, Chris Senn, opened a forum based on the game on his own message board, and began revealing large amounts of the game's development history to the public, including videos of early attempts, a playable character named Tiara, concept art of Tiara, and more. Furthermore, he posted a large amount of previously unreleased concept music related to the title, and was given permission by Hirokazu Yasuhara (the level designer for the majority of the original 16-bit Sonic titles, including the original) to post level designs that were going to be put in the game. Most of this information is to be posted on the Sonic X-treme Compendium web site (SXC), which officially went online April 5, 2006

I'm kinda surprised to see some of these responses. Here's just a short list of titles that I would have liked to see:
Resident Evil 1.5
Starcraft Ghost
Fear Effect 3
Resident Evil 1.5
Starcraft Ghost
Fear Effect 3

That's kind of different though. We DID get that finished product in Resident Evil 2. It wasn't really canceled, just majorly revamped and improved.
I would be quite interested in playing the original Resident Evil 1.5 build as well, if that's what you meant.
