Yeah, this exactly. Who is to say that he didn't have some contingency plan in place for when he died? Who is to say that there won't be a successor? Who is to say that the Al Queda organization won't be even more dangerous and unpredictable without a leader?hashiriya1 wrote:o.pwuaioc wrote: How about celebrating the relief from having a mass murderer finally free from terrorizing us anymore.
Sad to say, Bin Laden's death does not spell the end of killing sprees by terrorist organizations.
This is far from over. Hell, this may not even be the beginning.
Dammit, I was gonna use that joke. I guess I'll just say that he should have been more careful with his iPhone's tracking feature.Niode wrote:Osama really shouldn't have registered his details on PSN.

Also, I can't believe Donald Trump is already demanding Osama's death certificate.

About time. Only took over 10 years to kill one old dude who apparently has bad kidneys.

They also misspelled it USAMA for a good portion of the night as evidenced by the news screens me and a few guys from work were watching at wal-mart when the news broke.YoshiEgg25 wrote:Uh...good job, FOX News. Again.

Re: Osama bin Laden is dead
Well, I never really figured we would get him. But I'm glad of the news. Too bad he couldn't have been publicly executed instead of dying in a fight. His execution would have been very worth broadcasting.
Also, are we upset with Pakistan now for not doing anything about him all these years?
Also also, it would probably be best to be on the lookout for more terrorism soon. I'm thinking Al Quada (is that how it's spelled?) will probably be looking for revenge and a morale booster about now.

Usama is actually acceptable, depending upon the translation.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:They also misspelled it USAMA for a good portion of the night as evidenced by the news screens me and a few guys from work were watching at wal-mart when the news broke.YoshiEgg25 wrote:Uh...good job, FOX News. i am completely disgusted by the public reaction to this and it's seriously making me reconsider whether or not i want to continue living between these borders for the rest of my life.
i find it tragically ironic that the same circle of conservatives who have abhorred and lambasted obama for the duration of his candidacy and presidency are so willing to take his word that this poster-child for terrorism is essentially dead, thus ending a long-standing vendetta that we supposedly have with the entire middle east and all of its people.
it's also incredibly convenient that this announcement comes at a time when obama's public approval rating is at a near Bush-level low, in the wake of a birth certificate fiasco, after the defunding of public schools, programs, and organizations, and with a pending re-election campaign just around the corner.
and they're saying that he was "buried at sea" now within 24 hours, in accordance with muslim tradition. which is also shockingly convenient. (and also completely untrue)

Re: Osama bin Laden is dead
i don't think that bin laden is alive. i think he's probably been dead for a long time. either way, it doesn't really matter, i feel like it's pretty clear that this is a big power play for the obama camp. and the one thing that i'm so disappointed in is the reactions that some of my close friends and family have had, especially on facebook, twitter, etc.AppleQueso wrote:Oh god, here we go with the OSAMA IS NOT REALLY DEAD conspiracy crap already.

Wow, it's amazing, the news that can pop up while you're sleeping; I should try it more often!

@aaron
I don't think Obama's approval rating is as low as bush's got or really even close. Unless it somehow dropped 20% in the past week.
