I wonder if Sega could give the franchise to Bethesda, and effectively do a Fallout 3 (a game that the masses adopted, regardless of playing the first two) with Shenmue. Open ended with a main quest, hell, even Fallout 3 is about finding your father! Ideally I think Sega should make it with Suzuki, but just putting that idea out there.

i feel like Fallout 3 was so widely adopted because of the FPS-like gameplay. i don't think shenmue would translate well into that format.
