*note to self, no controller trades with Lime*
In that case, avoid the Dave and Busters north of Atlanta. Actually, avoid all demo kiosks around Atlanta. Also, the arcade cabinets in the Plaza Theater.

Having too many Console

Post by AznKhmerBoi »

so i would have phases where i would play 16bit games for month or so, then move to dreamcast, then back to sega saturn or psx, then back to wii or ps3.

Doing all this really doesnt help me progress in the games im playing thus i dont fully complete em and when i go back to em later on i forget alot of stuff like inventory, quest, side story, etc......

Which'd be excusable somewhat, if the difficulty rose incrementally, as opposed to "oh my god, I was doing fine, now I'm being fisted by an albino Akuma" and sweet Jesus, good luck if you chose a Street Fighter characther. It's so unbalanced, Fox news looks to it for pointers......
To be fair, all the regular characters suck. It's boss characters or go home.

Edit: Also, to be even more fair, CvS2 was notably biased towards Street Fighter Alpha characters. Take Sagat and Blanka, for example. Compared to just about any other character, they could walk all over them without breaking a sweat. I many times ran Blanka when I was forced to use a controller I couldn't do special motions on (like a Japanese-style stick or a stock PS2 controller) simply because I didn't need special moves. All I needed were fierce punches, fierce kicks, throws and either N-Groove or K-Groove.
That may be so, but my argument wasn't against SNK or Capcom, or a question of brand supremacy, it's simply a matter of an unbalanced game. I mean, there may've been precedence on Capcom's part, but making an unbalanced game in response to an unbalanced game accomplishes nothing, does it not?

Honestly, I don't think the game is too unbalanced. Let's look at the mostly agreed upon tier list (http://wiki.shoryuken.com/SvC_Chaos:_SNK_Vs_Capcom). God Tier is Geese and Zero - boss characters. Below that is Orochi Iori, another boss character. But then we have the Top Tier - Demitri, Violent Ken, Chun Li, Guile, Kim, Kyo, Terry, Tessa. So that means, right after we get past the boss characters, we get our first top tier regular character: Chun Li. The best regular character is a SF character. Then Guile, another SF character. The list gets more diverse as it goes on, and really, if you were to omit Boss Characters altogether and only use regular characters, it would be a pretty balanced game.

That's not bad for a game that was rushed out to be released before SNK lost the contract to use Capcom characters. Yes, it was a rushed fighter, but considering that, it wasn't too damn bad. Sure, it's not balanced - but I've never played a fighter that was.

I'm always paranoid about using up any limited weapons or magic in games to the point where I end up barely using them. For instance, I almost never use any of the boss powers in Mega Man games unless I'm fighting a boss.

this is my worst trait in 3D games, i tend to roam around just admiring the graphics, landscape, zooming in on charactors faces , looking at high details of the grass or trees.

I do this even when im play some FPS shooter like COD blackops
i would see something interesting and look and admire and then shoot it to see if it explode like goldeneye n64 where everthing explode or leave a mark.

I happy to say I had dozens of bad habits, specially when playing FPS but I managed to solved them. Things like jumping against snipers (They will just point where you are going to fall and headshot you) or aiming by strafing (slow and predictable).

Now I only have a couple that I know of. For example in TF2 the Pyro can push the enemies back against a wall using an airblast. He also has an axe that does huge damage if the oponent is on fire so the "puff'n'sting" tactic was born. You ambushed an enemy, pushed him and then hit with your axe for the kill.

This is good and all but now it's completely unnecesary. The Pyro received a new weapon that allows him to swtich weapons very fast so you can simply puff and kill. It's faster than the "puff'n'sting" and leaves no room for error or the skill of your rival so it's a no brainer not to push.

I still do it on reflex, tsk.

I'm also the kind that gets nervous when playing a fighting game and my oponent stands still, waiting for me.

Reloading after two kills. Im like clockwork, kill a guy, kill another RELOAD even if a third is next to me and i have ammo in the clip...

Also never using limited abilities for fear of needing them later on.

How about when you start plowing through an rpg, get to a certain point, save, stop playing for a really long time, and then when you come back a month later cant remember what you were doing, where the hell you are, or why all sweet Armageddon is being brought down on you.
Why did Kevin Flynn blare Journey so loud in his arcade? Was he trying to hear it from the grid?
