If Jimmy in that movie used a Game Genie to boost his performance in Super Mario Bros 3 for that big tournament, should he have gotten his ass disqualified? You bet.
It was the archetypal 80s antagonist who sought unfair advantage with the Power Glove. However, whether the Power Glove actually does yield unfair advantage to whoever wears it is another point.
Anyway, throw me in with the people who think that one set of rules should apply to everyone.
FWIW I was responding to the fact the guy was autistic and the fact disabled was mentioned in the thread already. Video rental guy I spoke about obviously acted a little different than most people, but he was amazing and it is cool that he found a way to use his talent.Ivo wrote:When an autistic person can not do something you can, often he is quickly tagged as "disabled". Some posters are now giving examples of an autistic person that can do something the poster can not do - so in the end why is the poster giving this exampled not receiving the label of "disabled"?
I don't think they have 0 value because if you look at the whole digital products thing they are all non tangible goods the value is in how it is perceived.ZeroAX wrote:http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/vi ... He-Cheated
On one hand, the kid did cheat. On the other hand, he's autistic and they are just fucking achievements. You know things that have 0 real value. Your thoughts on the matter?
This really spoke out to me when I read the article the blame is going on Microsoft here but whose fault was it really ?Zdenek was aware that her son gave his information to another player, but still paints her son in an innocent light. "I did warn him about this but seeing it wasn't a bank password or anything big, it's just a game we didn't worry about it too much and the boy just offered to give him Recon Armor, which he did," she said. She's given up on fighting Microsoft, and will likely take the company's offer of a free month of Xbox Live Gold and a new Gamertag for Jackson to start again

Yeah this 100%lisalover1 wrote:Okay, the general consensus is that cheaters should be punished. I don't care if you have cancer, AIDS, Leukemia, and every other disease under the sun. A cheater is still a cheater. Because the achievements have no material value, it should be simple enough to take them away.
