To be fair, his reviews are not to be taken seriously. He has said many times he's actually said bad things about games he likes, and that the AVGN isn't really him, it's just a joke.

Though most internet reviewers are supposed to be portraying a different persona, most of them end up being themselves (see Linkara) while James truly seems to be a different person than the AVGN.

Yeah, there's a few Sega CD games that you wait a while. But it still has nothing on the Commodore 64.

It depends on what you mean by "a system is bad". If you're talking about a console from a hardware standpoint, you only need one game to see if it's bad. If you're talking about the quality of the library of games, then yeah, you'll need to spend a lot of time playing the games.

Well, I mean an overall standpoint. Also, the problem isn't what AVGN says, it's that fanboys think that James Rolfe seriously gets overly angry at video games irl and don't realize avgn is a character

I am always amazed that people identify with AVGN. I always think its impossible to be that angry all the time (AVGN even goes by "seasons" that, much like the Simpsons, have their creative ups and downs).

I know this will blasphemy to many, but...

I actually prefer The Irate Gamer to AVGN. AVGN seems to rely a lot on poop and fart jokes, and I'm a bit past that. Not that Irate Gamer is exactly high-brow, but at least it's not poop and fart jokes. And I like the recurring charcters, like the ghost-Jedi guy, and Satan.
