I love the idea of competitive gaming on older titles, and appreciate the Twin Galaxies crowd (by the way, you are super friggin' cool, YoshiEgg guy), and have begun to tiptoe into that scene by, in the past week, setting two new world records (unofficially -- not yet verified by TG) and tying a third on NES cartridges.

The first of many to come, I hope.

I know I couldn't just go around calling myself NintendoLegend and not prove some gaming prowess to back it up.

Heh, thanks for the compliment, and congrats on the world records! It really is a good bragging right to have and you'll eventually be someone else's "guy to beat".

For those of you thinking about going for world records in the future, I have a thing that I'll be running with that may motivate you to do it. I can't say anything definitive yet, but hopefully I'll be able to let you guys know for sure by Thanksgiving weekend. ;)

Retro gaming-wise, I've taken cracks at the Super Mario Bros. TG high score, which I've gotten somewhat close to. And I've beat the fastest total completion time for Sonic the Hedgehog. In both cases, it requires breaking down the games into a science, having full knowledge of each level, every shortcut, every point bonus. ll I need to do now is simply record my gameplay.

last year, my brother and I placed 2nd in Wii Games Summer 2010, which was essentially a modern Nintendo World Championships. Got trophies, new systems and games for a year out of the deal.

They had a contest like that in the UK, I used to be on a forum that one of the winners used. He got every new release for a year as part of the deal.

Whoa - nice. Unofficial or not, which titles were they? 8)

I know you were going for largest margin of victory in RBI Baseball (which is awesome).
