Anyone else find it really hard to get interested in the NBA regular season? Usually the top 5-6 playoff teams are known already (or certainly by mid-way) and the playoffs are SO LONG as is.

Does anyone think the Eastern finals would be anyone other than Heat/Celtics (or maybe the Bulls)? Or that the Lakers won't make another long run to the finals? The NBA has become the MOST predictable league, and it has just about the most pointless regular season of all the major sports (the NHL is close, though).

Anyway, I'll get interested in May/June or whenever the playoffs are already a few rounds in...

In the beginning I only watch the "big" games. I put a lot of the games on but just keep checking score or watching for a few minutes.

It's definitely gonna be Celtics/Heat. 8)

Yeah, Brand was good. Since then, we've had Ben Wallace and Tyson Chandler. Way to fail in Chicago, guys.

Erm...the Philadelphia Flyers and the Montreal Canadiens both made it in in the last game of the season last year, with Philly needing a shootout win to get in. They both made it to the Eastern Conference Finals, with the Flyers going to the Stanley Cup Finals!

i'm also keeping my eyes on the Celtics (as always). i really like their team. hopefully Shaq can return soon. the other O'neal seems to be getting his groove back slowly and Rondo is a beast! 8)

yeah it's still hard to see the team without Shaq and without West. So we'll see. But yeah Rondo is fucking on fire right now. He came out of the gate ready to win this whole season. It's crazy to see his hunger right now. I love it. I feel like the press was ready to have Pierce passing the torch like 2 yrs ago, but now he's like "no it's deserved!" Which is amazing to see such incredible players on the same team right now. That's exciting basketball, y'now?

yep. the starting five of the C's is an All-Star team to me. they know what their doing and know their role: (win the championship)

as for Delonte West, IMO they should had not brought him back.. :? if i was Ainge i would had signed A.I. for bench energy. but hey, that's just me. Go C's! 8)

yeah yr right about them all knowing their roles. Shaq really impressed me in Game 1. At first I wasn't sure we made the right decision signing him, but 3 mins into that game I was sold.

As far as D. West -- I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. He's pretty great in 2k3.
