I'm not sure how accurate the physics are (I never really payed much attention to the physics in the Genesis Sonic games) and I haven't played the demo to Sonic the Hedgehog 4 yet.
you will most likely be disappointed when u try the demo for Sonic 4 after trying this demo out.
I wasn't disappointed, I was pissed. I ranted over it in the Project Needle Mouse thread.

Also something I've noticed

The chubby sonic of the Mega Drive games, and this remix, ends up being cool without even trying (and very likable as well).

The skinny Sonic of modern games just looks lame. He's like the kid who tries to be cool but fails miserably.

So Sega, if you don't publish this game yourself, at least copy the sonic design (which is a copy of your original sonic designs).

"Skinny" Sonic did just fine in Sonic Adventure, all of the Sonic Advance games, and Sonic Rush, so I think that's the least of Sega's problems.

In the first SAdventure his in game model is chubby. It's at the cover that he's skinny.

It's not as extreme as some of the illustration art, but that's clearly the newer Sonic design and not the old one.

hm. I just played the game today, and I'm pretty sure, on the cut scenes at least,
that he is kind of chubby. Of course that could be due to the stupid way they have him standing

Yeah, or maybe the camera angle or something. In fairness, he does look chubby compared to the SA1 cover art. Almost anything would though. That art was seriously exaggerated and bizarre. "New" Sonic typically looks more or less the same as the two images I posted of him. IMO he looks a lot better than the model used on all the North American cover art, let alone some of the comics and cartoons. It's just the old design with an updated style and a little more detail as far as I'm concerned.

I don't really mind skinny Sonic. He looks less like a Disney character (I can see why that'd be a bad thing in some people's eyes). Also, the Sonic model in Sonic Adventure looks a little chubby, but not as chubby as Classic Sonic. Maybe he was in the middle of his diet. ;)
