The Most Collected Game Console on Racketboy
Re: The Definitive Game Console on Racketboy
PC's top for me, but of your choices it's the Gameboy line, though I think it's unfair to loop together the Gameboy and Gameboy Advance. It'd be like combining the NES and SNES.

agreed.
Re: The Definitive Game Console on Racketboy
It was a necessary evil. With only 10 spots and so many pertinent systems to list, I had to squeeze 'em together. I used the reasoning that most systems that can play GBA can also play GB/C so they made the most sense to squish.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
Re: The Definitive Game Console on Racketboy
I had to put gameboy, because it adds up over three generations.
64 comes second with 29 games in my collection.

Re: The Definitive Game Console on Racketboy
PC has the largest of any machine, and the most variety, though I'd argue it shouldn't count since it isn't a console.
I'd also argue to exclude handhelds, though the Gameboy library is incredible. Again, I tend to view handhelds in a separate category from consoles.
As far as choice is concerned, I'd say the Super Nintendo, which I'd argue is Nintendo's crowning achievement in a long line of considerable success. To me the console featured games from numerous genres that were a blast to play, including many titles for the casual player and hidden finds for the experienced collector. The controller felt good, the games were amazing, and the list of titles is quite large: there's nearly something for everyone.
Plus, it was a console in a very influential time in gaming history. During the SNES reign it fought a massive battle with SEGA that to this day defines the term "console war" for me. It was a key piece in the battle over video game violence and how well violence in games translates to sales and the formation of the ESRB. Personally it took me from viewing video games as mere amusement and showed me the potential for the medium, offering the first step in a more mature outlook with Final Fantasy VI. It both marked a pinnacle in 2D graphics and a glimpse into the future with pseudo-3D and 3D graphics.
After that, I'd probably say the PS2, which featured a long reign as a power player, even into the next generation of consoles, and had such an enormous library that there really is something for everyone.

Nice choices; they're all games that have that distinctive GC "style" about them.
Re: The Definitive Game Console on Racketboy
The poll question vs the actual topic are a little at odds. While I was not about to go hand count my collection, I am fairly certain that I have the most PS2 games vs. any other system although I wouldn't say PS2 is my favorite system. It just has tons of cheap and readily available games to be purchased.
I think Sega Saturn, as pursuant to my screen name, would be my favorite.
