-What about Castlevania: Symphony of the Night? That was one of the best Castlevania games ever made. Solid action-platforming, great RPG elements, and a very gothic look to it.

-Gex is a great 2D platformer based on TV genres. Fun, and challenging.

-Mega Man 8 & Mega Man X4 are both great additions to the Mega Man series.

-Metal Slug X. Who doesn't like Metal Slug? Run and gun at it's finest, my friend.

-Oddworld is a great game. A unique little game that you could classify as a stealth game.

-Tomba is a fun, and colorful little platformer.
