Final Fantasy 7 Poll
Re: Final Fantasy 7 Poll
I own it, me and my my brother have both tried beating it. we Probably put 20 minutes into it. It was just too damn boring to us.
Re: Final Fantasy 7 Poll
Loved the game. I bought FF8, FF9, FF10, legend of Dragoon because of that game. Although I thought dragon age origins sucks.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Poll
I beat it a few weeks after release.
Also, it was probably the first game besides Chrono Trigger that I purchased on launch day. My local EB at the time had an awesome manager that actually drove an hour and a half to a shipping distributor and managed to get the game in a day early. He called everyone who had pre-ordered and invited them in for a pizza party and to pick up their copy. Such a great memory.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Poll
First console RPG I ever played, I was maybe 13 at the time. Played it through twice. I was strictly a pen & paper man before then. Love the game and have been looking for something similar for over 10 years. Xenogears is about the closest. FFVII has a very strange aesthetic to it, I never want to see it remade. It just wouldn't be good.

both let you stick things in them for amusement...
both usually end up costing you a fortune over time...

I have the PC version, and made it to the final battle, but died. Upon reloading from the previous save, ran into problems with the in game cut scenes where the video would crash gameplay. Never resolved that, ultimately lost my save somewhere in time and have never since beaten the game.

That is incredibly awesome! I do wish I'd gotten the game earlier than I did. In fact, I added FFVII to my Christmas list in 1998, but I ended up going over the amount I was allowed and something had to go. I foolishly got rid of it because I really wanted Abe's Oddysee at the time. Since it's also one of my fave PS1 games I'm not too bummed in retrospect but still...Flak Beard wrote:I beat it a few weeks after release.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Poll
I tried playing through it a looong time again (when I was like 10) but could never get past Midgar. Nevertheless, my brother is a huge fan of the game and I used to watch him play it when I was young, so I've seen a good amount of the game and know all the characters, the basic story, and the music.
Now that I have an attention span of more than 6 seconds, I'm going to try to play through it over the summer. I'm really quite sure how much I'm going to like it, but I'm sure it'll be at least somewhat enjoyable. FFVI and FFV are both in my top 10 favorite games of all time, with FF and FFIV not too far behind (and FFT is my favorite game of all time, though that features much different gameplay). However, I hated what I played of FFVIII and FFX, and was lukewarm on FFIX and FFXII (though I've played none of those games extensively).

Ive finished the game at least 3 times. Playing fully through, leveling everyone to 99 and getting a ton of materia for each character. It goes well into the hundreds of hours each time Ive played through. Its one of my favorites and Id suggest it to anyone.
