For one, it's hard as hell. Hard enough where I actually yanked the cart out of the SNES and broke it by throwing it at the wall when I was younger.

The reason I've given up "beating" it is that, like with the original NES game, you get all the way through it (after much swearing and anguish) and it wants you to do it one more time to actually get to the boss.

Not. Gonna. Happen.

EVER

Happened with my friend. He got to the end, saw that he had to beat it again, said some obscenities and never touched it again.

Wow, that's pretty rediculous. I hate when games do stuff like this. I remember as a kid playing High Seas Havoc on easy mode. It's a pretty hard game and I finally got through level 5 or 6 and got the message "NOW TRY NORMAL MODE!". Argh.

I think it'd be easier for me to actually count the games I did finish. For all of the games I have and have had and how much time I play there aren't many that I've actually finished. If I turn it off it's trouble. By the time I get around to actually wanting to play that particular game I don't remember what I've done or what I need to do next so I restart it. I get to a certain point and shut it off to play something else and done. I'm not sure why this happens. I do know I've finished Kid Icarus and Castlevania II when I was a kid. I passed Strider (SG) and some others but mostly I just play and don't finish them. I know it's strange!!!

Is anyone else like this? Is there a way to overcome it? I really would like to see the end of certain games; Psychonauts for instance.

I was going to give up on the final boss of Castlevania Circle of The Moon, but then I thought, "I will not let this thing beat me." I proceeded to win in 2 more tries. Pattern memorization ftw!

As someone once said, the average RPG is only good for the first 5 hours - after that, it's just hopping from one town to another, grinding all the way to a generic, sappy ending.

same here.
I tried so many times to play final fantasy but I always get bored after about 30 minutes

I remember have a lot of trouble with that boss. It was so satisfying to finally beat that game!

Now if only I could manage to beat Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance...

I'm very close to giving up on Blaster Master Overdrive.

You only have one life. No simple continue screen. It goes to game over screen, then main menu screen, then load screen, then are you sure you want to load this screen, then finally to the game. Why not just a continue yes/no screen?

And at least Blaster Master gave you three lives too. Level 4 is just kicking my ass.

Wow, that's even worse than Gunstar Super Heroes just sending you to the title screen after you die.

Yeah, it's one of the main reasons I want to toss the game aside. The game itself is really challenging, which I enjoy, but it really isn't an improvement over the original. They remixed the original music, and I actually prefer the original music.
