I have never had a single problem with Steam. I know plenty of other people who have never had a problem with Steam. You can do a lot worse than Steam as far as digital distribution goes. DLC on the Wii is completely non-transferable. If your Wii dies, so does all the content on it. There's nothing you can do about it.
I have had problems with Crash Bandicoot on PS3, I bought it on my 40GB PS3 and when I bought a 60GB BC PS3 it simply wouldn't transfer. I called Sony about it and they just played dumb saying that there was no history of the transaction. I told them that I was sat playing the damn game right now on my PS3 40GB. I definitely bought it and paid money for it. They essentially told me to fuck off. It just wasn't worth the money in calls to get the issue resolved since it only cost £3 or whatever. I think I spent that money again just to get fobbed off on the phone.
The Steam 'DRM' is transferable to as many machines as you want. You can have your account on a million computers if you wanted to, you just have to log in on each machine if you want to play a game. The only restriction is that you can't log in with the same account on multiple systems at the same time. Hardly a restriction at all considering that you're never going to be playing on two systems at once.

Re: Midway Games removed from XBLA
When Steam first launched it was very unstable on my pc, ie crashed daily. It wasnt until I bought Half Life 2 that I realized that atleast part of the issue was the older version of Java I had to use for a class I was in. Updating Java, and updates to Steam itself, rectified most of the issues I had with it. The only thing I wish they did different was that if they offer a game on their service, I can just add my key and itll be added to my Steam account. It works for some titles, ie Unreal Tournament 3, but others, ie Titans Quest, it does not. Nit picking I know.

Yes I wish this was possible. I'd love to have all my retail games added to Steam, the auto-patching is just so convenient. I don't have to worry about hunting down patches etc. Steam just takes care of it. It's not the same but you can always add your games to steam via the 'Add non-steam game' option.fastbilly1 wrote:When Steam first launched it was very unstable on my pc, ie crashed daily. Its less about the loader, more about not having to find the discs/traveling. I actually dont mind having a screen full of icons.
