Can I ask what it was? I don't mean to pry, but I'm a heavy coffee drinker, so my curiosity is piqued. If he didn't recommend cessation of soda and tea, then it's not caffeine related. Not sure what else in coffee would cause health problems.
It was an advanced bacterial infection in my long intestine. Doc suggested that soda or coffee could cause my flare ups so I had to get rid of one and see what happens. Since I love Coke, coffee got the boot. Apparently something in the coffee at work was causing it to inflame and made me double over in pain. The flair ups use to happen every few hours, but now there are days inbetween them. So whatever it was in the coffee at work it was agitating the infection. Doc says after it all gets cleared up I can start drinking it again. He said a drink here or there would not be an issue right now, but to be safe I am staying on tea for atleast another month.
Honestly, as much as I love a nice cup of coffee, not having pain in my stomach is superior. Though it lead one of my best female friends making comments about me having a period...

Wow, glad you found the cause of that. Guess no one's been cleaning the office coffee maker huh. Maybe once you're all better you could bring an aeropress in and make your own coffee as needed. There's not much place for bacteria to hide on those.

I use to have a coffee pot at my desk, but they upgraded the communal coffee makers & machines and said you can no longer have your own coffee pots (fire hazards...). Just gotta make it to next March and I will be able to take a new job.

This was the basis for getting a new job?

Moving to another state is the reason for the new job. The soft date is March for the move
