My wife frequents lots of makeup, perfume and fashion forums. I would have to say videogames are pretty low "try rock bottom" on the list of sites she visits.

Yeah, my wife only plays some of the lame games on Facebook like Cafe World, Mafia Wars and FarmVille; and if she is on a forum it tends to be TV talent show forums.

Women play games, however they are very mild nicey games in general, rather than games from retro consoles. Their brains are wired differently to ours!

I must be one of the weird ones, then - I pretty much stay away from places like Facebook (I'm there only to check my contacts) and I don't play FarmVille because my coworkers are addicted to it and I refuse to be. I'm always lurking around video game forums, and play more retro games than any games that are out today (and they're not mild or girly ones either - I think those games are annoying! )

And yes, I do occasionally get strange looks from some other women (looks that translate to "why are you interested in that stuff?") And a lot of the guys that I hang out with think it's awesome that I am interested in it!

My fiancee likes a lot of games, mostly RPG/Puzzle though. She's addicted to Runescape right now. She used to be addicted to Guild Wars, but prefers the open-ness of Runescape since it's a large persistent world unlike GW. She also plays Fable 2 and is on her way to getting all the achievements. She also likes playing Pixel Junk Monsters. Hates shooting games, but does enjoy the story part of action adventure games when I play them.

She's got an xbox live gold account and plays on it often, but I'm not going to tell you lot her ID. Ya bunch o' freaking pervs.

I know a few women who play L4D1+2, TF2 et al. So that statement is complete bullshit, it would be on par with "Men only play violent games".
