I still don't get how you don't understand that not all 1080p is created equal. I don't know how many times people have said it, but a 9GB compression is not remotely the same thing as a raw 25-35GB 1080p video.

And his point was not that products can't be compared, but that denouncing a product with viability is futile. If you're going to respond to anyone, respond to the person that made a valid point that the control of Resident Evil 4 for Wii was superior to the alternatives. It's a very potent point, and one which Xbox 360 and PS3 can only respond to with graphics, rather than control.

Man alive. I must be the only person who preferred Resident Evil 4 on the Gamecube as opposed to the Wii. It wasn't terrible on the Wii, but I preferred the steady precision of the Gamecube controller.

I've borrowed BD's and played them on the same TV that I stream downloaded HD videos to and it's not that big of a difference in quality. I am aware of compression reducing quality but it's a small disadvantage, compared to the long list of advantages. Generally speaking, the internet is superior to BD's.

Same thing for the Wii and PS3. Generally speaking the PS3 will win out and you know it. Of course there are a few games that are better on the Wii, such as Wii Sports Resort and Wii Fit. If those games had PS3 versions with fantastic graphics and internet multiplayer, I would prefer the Wii versions because they are just more fun with the motion controls. But on the other hand, we have Wii games like Soul Eater: Monotone Princess that were absolutely ruined by horrid 480i 4:3 graphics and poorly done, mandatory motion controls. Sigh... What a let down that was for me.

You join a fucking retro site?...hmm...lets see, maybe those people need to go trash up the IGN forums and stop all this bs over what console is better just because of fucking graphics. How long did it take the ps3 to come out with a GOOD game? How long did it take the 360 to get a console that doesnt kill itself? How much shovelware does the wii have. Look who gives a fuck...leave it be...here is a funny fact:

Lost within has Sold:

3 xbox 360s
2 wiis
6, count them SIX fucking ps3s

hmm...

So long story short, if you can not enjoy every console and are only here to moan about "oh my god this is better than this because of this" who cares...they all have faults, by owning any one of the next gen consoles you have been bent over without given a reach around. Welcome to the new world of gaming...get used to it.
Yes. No one should ever compare two similar products or form opinions about them. We all need to learn to knock it off and enjoy everything equally, because it's all the same. There is no difference.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go rent a VHS tape from Blockbuster and watch it on my 13 inch black and white television. Why should I download a 1080p video from the internet and stream it to a 50 inch HDTV? They are exactly the same thing after all. I don't even see why they bothered making color TVs with fancy high resolutions and large screens. It doesn't matter at all and it's certainly not any better.

To put it simply you should fuck off, and just drop the oh man this console sucks crap. Yep everyone has an opinion good great, everyone also has an asshole, and everyone also has to die. Point? this forum is about the love of games this is not some place to come and bitch and moan about games systems due to their not having 1080p graphics. This is a forum where people still play atari...on there 15 inch tv...that still has a vhs player. I am not about to argue with you, but you can take that 350$ ps3 and shove it up your ass with the other 6 I have had and sold due to losing interest. Funny thing is I prefer other consoles over the wii...but I dont go into THE NINTENDO SECTION OF A FUCKING FORUM!...and talk about how horrible it is.
Yep, I know im the one ya love to hate.

I find it funny that even on Racketboy we still manage to have to go through the apparently forum mandatory heated console debates (not so much console rivalry as personal in this case though)

Just to clarify, the Wii itself is perfectly capable of 480p and 16:9. Whether or not a developer puts enough time and polish into a game to utilize it is not the Wii's fault. If you want to see a game that looks spectacular on the Wii, the aforementioned Monster Hunter Tri is probably the top of the heap so far. It just proves that Wii graphics can look just fine, and again, the fact that many game developers have not taken advantage of it is not a logical argument against the Wii itself.

For myself, I'm happy that the Wii continues to get important exclusives if only so that people on this forum can come and moan about how much better it would have been on 360/PS3. I'm always happy to defend the Wii.

I liked both, but I thought the cursor on the Wii better than the laser sights. If your shooting far away, the dot sight gets faint and hard to see.

Excepting, of course, that downloading videos off the internet instead of buying them on BluRay is immoral...

I mean, hey, how about that weather right now! I'm in Atlanta and there's snow on the ground! And my Alma Mater is currently winning the BCS National Championship game!

Also, the first Mega Man is a great game.

Also, I'm glad Capcom isn't abandoning the Wii. I won't be getting into the current generation of consoles for probably five more years. By then, the only machines still worth buying use will be Wiis because they will still work and won't be as dependent on mandatory DLC from long-dead servers.
