Yeah, they either had a replica statue or a room dedicated to it. I never stopped by it when I was there as it was on the second floor and there was nothing really interesting in it's location. I do remember reading about it in the brochure/program.

Here's what I was talking about, it's called Hachiko:

Hopefully we can all set up a place to meet and get to know everyone from the boards who's going.
I really like going to cons but how much of a video game presence is there at this one? I'm not really into anime. Should I go?

Their game room (Run by Majors and the Wedoca crew.) was really fun and a lot better than most I've seen, but it is slanted a lot more on the Japanese and Anime/Manga side.

The nice thing about Animazement is that it's a con focused on all aspects of Japanese culture, so if you enjoy traditional Asian music or modern J-Rock or J-Pop to art, culture and martial arts. Not to mention the atmosphere and general feeling surrounding the con is really nice. Everyone was friendly especially since dicks, fanboys and know it all assholes are not welcome.

Here's the website so you can learn more:

Also, Video Games New York was there last year and they had an awesome table in the dealer's room.

What MME means is that there is no Halo, 'duty or PC games. Heavy on the fighters, shmups and cool imports. Basicly heaven for RBers!

Mad-gear is confirmed, also. Carlson missed last year do to conflicting cons but is all set to sell you some classic JP imports.

Everyone should meet in the game room since I'll be there all weekend long.

Hmmm... I am tempted. I not a big anime guy (I've only watched a few, and really only loved Cowboy Bebop) but I do love me some games. Thanks for the info guys.

Yeah, you guys brought down the house with rel games, eight player Saturn Bomberman, and lots and lots of cabs.

Also, Carlson's coming!? Hellz yeah! I met him at Momocon in Atlanta and he was one cool hombre.

Can't wait, this year's AZ looks like it's shaping up to be more and more awesome the closer it gets!

We had a snafu with the pads last year, so only 8 players. But we got that fixed for this year, so back to hi-ten Bomberman!

Oh yea, Bomberman deathmatch. Thats probably been an Animazement tradition before i started going there. I just see the die hard/ uber nerds hit that up every year. They dont draw a crowd like the fighting game tourny's but it pretty interesting to watch.

Oh yea, some guy last year had like weird japanese rom games on his laptop, some i was like "WTF is this, thats awesome". I wish there was a list of stuff they play or a sign of some sort.
