Easy way to be in the Christmas spirit is if you have children, or use it as an excuse to get pissed out of your skull with office parties. I have no children, and not into alcohol or office parties much so "meh". I'm working over part of it anyway, which is a shame.

No offense, but is the only reason you don't celebrate Christmas because you don't like the idea of giving presents? You can have Christmas without presents, just do it the way they did before gift giving became a customary thing. Spend time with family and have an awesome meal.Inazuma wrote: Yeah, Christmas was originally based on fairy tales but nowadays it's all about spending money. I don't have a problem with giving gifts to others but I prefer to have a reason behind it. Buying someone a gift just because society tells you to is yet another example of our typical mindless behavior and I'll have no part in it.

I don't have a problem with eating a meal with my family. I just don't like Christmas related things in particular. Christmas decorations are a waste of money to me and I can't help but get very annoyed when someone asks me to help them set it up. You can climb onto the house to string up lights if you enjoy that sort of thing. I think it's a big waste of time and money, plus it only serves to help spread support of Christmas to everyone who sees it.darthmunky wrote:No offense, but is the only reason you don't celebrate Christmas because you don't like the idea of giving presents? I don't want to prevent someone from choosing to celebrate Christmas, if they really enjoy it. All I ask is that people respect my choice to not participate in return.

Everyone should have at least one truly awful Christmas sweater, regardless of religion and personal beliefs. Do you have any idea how easy it is to embarrass your entire family by just wearing one?MrPopo wrote:Oh, maybe one of you guys can answer this. Why is it that people have both winter clothes and Christmas clothes?

I want a Christmas sweater. Like one with a big Christmas tree on it and I'd wear it all month long.

Re: Anyone In The Christmas Mood Yet?
I'm getting into the Christmas spirit. Every black friday after we do our shopping, I always put our Christmas tree up (I dont know why but I absolutely love putting up the Christmas tree) and my mom and dad put up the lights outside our house. So our Christmas decorations are always up after Thanksgiving.

That's pretty much how my neighborhood operates. I wake up on Black Friday, look out my window, and all of a sudden it's Christmas.Metal Militia wrote:I'm getting into the Christmas spirit. We brought out the Christmas decorations last night while listening to Sinatra sing some carols. It was tons o funs, so we're starting to get in the spirit. That, and I'm no longer sick from Spin Day, so I'm all kinds of happy.
