Yeah, the materials for steampunk were way to expensive, not to mention tricky to use, I think I will just keep it Simple, (you know, the K.I.S.S Rule) for my first one, maybe the next one will be somewhat awesome.

Update, got the wiring done, everything except the controller, Just need to connect the wires up, bad news though, I forgot to drill holes for the shoulder buttons. No worries though, I can just drill them with my hand drill rather than the drill press. Scared the crap out of myself though, hooking up my switch I dropped a small patch of solder on the traces leading to the RCP, luckily the protective coating did what I love it for and stopped the solder from sticking. So it is all good.

It's looking pretty rough right now, but I can see it starting to come together.

Ok, Like I said above, Wiring is done, case work from now on, Going to use an Epoxy/Bondo mix to hold things together, So, list thyme
1) Order screen
2) order charger
3) Cosmetics on the case, / install buttons/joystick/paint
4) wire controller
5) add screen (wires all ready to go, screen just needs to be inserted. )
6)???
7) Procrastinate, forget about posting pctures on the internet

Applied the bondo, waiting for it to set, then I will sand it.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEpic BAMP!
I sanded the case ages ago, I need to reapply and build up the left side.
The screen is on my desk, I just need to find time to rip the thing apart and feast on its green circuitry.
Now that I have the screen I can finish the franken-modding of the front half, almost everything is done, I just need to figure out some method of heatsinks, my last idea is inefficient, and a way to mount the fan in the case without rattle or noise.
Also, I read somewhere that the composite wire may need shielding or there will be interference, is this true? Should I slip some of my Controller shielding over the Audio and video wires?

Nope, no interference on the composite cable.

You don't seem to need a fan if you use a fairly large copper plate, or similar. Vents should suffice.

Good to see you are back on this project again!
