but we also have the "special gift" being the proverbial mystery box of the whole thing.

Also I seem to remeber capcom going back on something like this with tansanoku (however you spell it) vs. capcom

On the upside, I can see the price continuing to plummet because of the news, so hopefully picking up the original for dirt cheap will be an option. That way, I can pick up both of them for about the price of one new game, and I get the special item.

And truthfully, I figure there will probably only be two new characters. I do hope that rumor is slightly wrong, however, in that I really don't want them wasting a slot on Cody. He just has never struck me as a well-defined character. Guy is a much better choice.

The other new character is called Hakan he's an indian fighter with a beard, I hear he's grapple based.

It'll be 8 new characters off the bat with 2 hidden, all SF4 charaters will be unlocked on start up including Gouken and Akuma, the new hiddens wil be one Alpha cast member and and SFIII fighter leaving a total of 10 new characters.

Cammy will be gettig a tool upgrade to deal with crouchers... shame I love pissing off Cammy players like that on PSN...

The SF4 save game unlocks some costumes.

I haven't picked up a copy of the original Street Fighter IV because of the experiences I had with it. The game was fun, do not get me wrong, but on a competitive level, characters like Sagat were so far overpowered and really dominated the game, making it incredibly difficult to get into without reverting to that character.

If they fix the apparent problems with the balancing of the game, I will most definitely look into getting Super Street Fighter IV, but I am worried that, with the inclusion of all of these new characters, that the balance will tip again in another direction.

Street Fighter II is my favorite fighting series of all time. I was waiting for the price to come down before I buy SF4. since this is coming and at a reduced price too, i will just wait for that. i can see why ppl who bought SF4 is pissed but i can also understand that they got some of their money's worth playing it too.

The one good thing about this release is that people who always play as Ken/Ryu/Sagat will not have much reason to care about some new characters, so you might actually get more diverse matchups online with this version.
