It all depends on whether you are comfortable taking electronics apart. I've done mods to a lot of my consoles and handhelds so this one was actually really straight forward.DaGamingMonkey wrote:MicroByte wrote:Thanks! It's really unbelievable how much a difference the backlighting makes. The colors are so much more vibrant and crisp. Frontlighting just looks washed out and I never like that the antireflective layer on front always caused the LCD to look like there was a reflection or glaze on it. It wasn't until I compared the before and after pictures that I REALLY saw the difference!DaGamingMonkey wrote:Looks beautiful Mircobyte.
Love that retro look
My girlfriend has a SP with the brighter back lit screen, Until she was using hers around me I never knew how horrible mine looked.
How difficult would it be to get my SP backlit?
With the price is it better just to look for one already with back lighting?
Never thought of it tilla fter my girlfriend, and she's taunting me with it now to make me want to upgrade even more.....
I would just go for buying one with the brighter screen. Check eBay, there are some good deals at times. You won't have much of a choice since I believe the brighter version only comes in light blue and graphite.
LOL, what would be hilarious is if you swapped the screen and guts if your SP with your GIrlfriends! I would love to see her reaction the first time she opened the lid and fired it up!
