What is the best PSP model?
Re: What is the best PSP model?
The 3000. Has brightest screen TV out and UMD.
Newest PSP dropped UMD so no way thats a contender. Can you say yellow light of you lost all your downloads on PS3? Same could happen to any machine. Except you would still physically have the software.

Hm, I can see how interlacing would bother people. But I prefer the PSP 3000 screen because colors just look better on it than on the PSP 2000. The colors on the 2000, to me, just seem rather metallic and faded.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:Ugh, interlace city.dedalusdedalus wrote:I really love the PSP 3000 screen.
Maybe it's a better contrast ratio, maybe it's just placebo. Never really bothered to compare the specs on them.

By the way in a month or two Logitech is going to rtelease a UMD drive for the PSP Go, so it'll actually be a viable system when the peripheral is released.

Re: What is the best PSP model?
Is that true? I thought Logitech released a statement late last year that it wouldn't be releasing a UMD reader for the PSP Go, unless that was just a lame excuse to buy some time.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote: By the way in a month or two Logitech is going to rtelease a UMD drive for the PSP Go, so it'll actually be a viable system when the peripheral is released.
But then again, IMO, the PSP Go needs to drop to the same price as a PSP-3000 (or even lower!), given the hard fact that you need to buy your games AGAIN!

I'd bite on the PSP Go if only someone could figure out how to run custom firmware on it. Then you wouldn't have to buy your games again.skyknight wrote:Is that true? PSP Go should be renamed to PSP Gone. Bring back internal UMD Sony!Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:By the way in a month or two Logitech is going to release a UMD drive for the PSP Go, so it'll actually be a viable system when the peripheral is released.
I do commend Logitech for keeping UMD going. Even if that add on UMD comes out it means just that. An add on. Few software companies (especially Sony) will crank out any new games for second party add on hardware. I can see UMD becoming dead format. How come I keep thinking of the (though not entirely their fault) 360 first party add on HD Movie drive?

Remember add on Light, Magnifier and Speakers for gameboy? Remember battery drainage? Remember how ridiculous this makes your console not so portable?

Re: What is the best PSP model?
Apparantly the HEN team have managed to get homebrew running on the PSPgo. It should only be a matter of time before CFW will be able to be installed. When this time comes I will contemplate getting a PSPgo, I will not support a download only console unless I can do whatever I please with it. Not being able to play your own games on the system, and not offering some sort of rebate system is just foolish on Sony's part.dedalusdedalus wrote:I'd bite on the PSP Go if only someone could figure out how to run custom firmware on it. Also, it's the worst selling console in Japan right now. Sold only 2000 units. By comparison the 360 sold twice as many units, hell the PS2 sold 500 more units than the PSPGo. Just so you know the original PSP sold 71k units.
So yeah, just thought I'd let you know. I called it's failure the day it was announced. I must be some sort of genius mystic. For a nominal fee, I will now predict your winning lottery numbers.*

I don't think you get it.
The PSP Go is NOT a new PSP, it's just a PSP in a different form factor.
The UMD is still used for all PSP games released at retail and isn't going anywhere anytime soon. What this drive would allow you to do is play your existing and future UMD's on your PSP Go handheld.

Re: What is the best PSP model?
As a PSP expert (sarcasm), i would have to say that it goes in this order
Go<1000<3000<2000
Slim is the best because it not only has the small form factor, but it is a lot easier to hack

Re: What is the best PSP model?
I prefer the PSP1000, I like the weight of it. The slim is too lite for me. Makes it feel cheap and flimsy, I feel like I'm going to break the damn thing. Plus the mechanical UMD drive is better than the slim's glorified cover. The PSP1000 is also the easiest to hack and it has a better screen than the 3000 (it's interlaced, wtf?). That's my opinion anyway.
