I can almost beat (loop) Popeye on C64 but those one-button joystick controls get the best of me. Seems like a much more manageable game on NES.

Does Nintendo have any of their old arcade releases on the Virtual Console? I'm gonna guess no.

I've been playing the original Mass Effect for the first time (360). I'm currently at about 18.5 hours in, and I've only done about 1/4th of the actual main plot. I find this amusing because this game's HLTB time is 17 hours. Man, if you finished this game in 17 hours you missed soooo much quality optional content. The side missions and planetside exploration are very entertaining. While it isn't perfect, and there are some things I'd change, I still am very much in love with this game right now and look forward to the rest of the trilogy.

It really is a shame. Nintendo made some pretty cool arcade games, and they have never recevied "arcade perfect" ports...

(C'mon, Nintendo! When are you gonna drop that Sky Skipper sequel on us?)

Nintendo has always been notoriously bad regarding ports and compilations. The difference between them and Sega in that regard is staggering.

I still can't believe how good the "Sonic" Ultimate Sega Genesis Collection is.

Nintendo? Hey let's repackage an SNES game and sell it for $40+!

Fallout: New Vegas
Can't believe that this came out 5 years ago already, and that it took me 5 years to get around to playing it. I'm having an absolute blast with it. The setting, atmosphere, and factions are all so much better than Fallout 3's. Seeing the NCR from Fallout 2 again is a nice throwback, and Caesar's Legion is freaking brutal.

Fallout belongs in the southwest, it really does. That 50's Americana that the series milks so hard is much better represented by California/Nevada than Maryland or Mass.

That sentiment right there is my gaming experience in general. Although the "5 years" can often be 10 or 15 or even 25 years in my case.

I'm still discovering stuff released in 1981 (I mean this literally, I played Frisky Tom for the first time last night and had a blast).

Still playing the Tomb Raider reboot and still enjoying myself. There have been a couple of spots that have given me trouble, but it hasn't been anything too bad. Part of it is that I play too late at night and my reflexes suffer as a result.

I just finished the bunker and heading back to the Beach area. A quick check of a guide tells me I'm getting close to done. This may actually be the first game I finish this year
