Any race unfortunately has racists, does not matter of status or even falsely perceived as ahead in society. All races have successful people and struggling groups. Please don't try to sugar coat it as only certain groups can be racist. Minority can also be any race. A friend on mine has a kid who is white was picked on by Hispanic Kids because he stood out; the ratio a common reality in border states. Just a few bad apples, but shows that any group can be racist.
News flash there is an exclusive White Caucus in Congress to support their people. Oh wait, I meant Black Caucus. How is that right and even allowed? History is important to remember wrongs of the past, but no justification for the double standard.

I do not fault the incidents on the President Elect, the individuals breaking the law are the true blame and need to take ownership for their actions. Don't play nice, arrest any bastard that breaks the law.
Trump is not even president yet; all the hate will not change anything. Deal with it, he is the next President! See how he does and if you don't like it vote him out in the next election. If you don't like that Clinton lost even with more votes focus getting the Electoral College abolished instead of all the protests that will make no difference.

Wow that was a bullshit excuse to dismiss it, if basically if you're seen as the not historically upperhand group, it's totally cool to be a bigot, racist...riiight. That totally throws pages of arguing in here upsidedown. Classy.
Here's one to chew on...back when I was still a resident of California (not short term but long) towards the end white people became a minority in the state, more so now than before. Yet if anyone there dares to call out the behavior of the left in that state it's a feeding frenzy and even stupid comments of, 'it is our turn get used to it' seriously got thrown around. Even as a minority the state will block any white men and women for applying to any minority based assistance or money (college grants, public assistance, etc) because well -- history. I even got blocked on this stuff via affirmative action in college for 2 years trying to apply for a job until then Gov Wilson revoked it (of which then I was hired in a little over 30 days later...imagine that.) Despite the rules seemingly allowing for any minority to apply for such programs.
Again, I guess it's convenient and easy to split hairs and allow one side to be shitty to the other, even after the shoe is on the other foot. Can't win arguing this stuff can we? That seinfeld picture pretty much sums up trying to argue anymore if this is going to boil down to if your skin isn't white, you can't be a bigot, racist or the rest even if you behave like one well 'because history.' Bah...and you wonder why people are acting as they are now and racists or not (and far more not than there are) why Trump got the job. Double standards are bullcrap.
By the way CRT, good point...perhaps you should ask when is white history month? OH wait, I know there response to that one, the other 11 months of the year. Screw the asians right? Probably since the Chinese get their own special new years that covers it I guess.

Not only financial, but also who gets in the college and jobs! Affirmative action and race collection in the "name of equality" should be outlawed. Go with the smartest most capable people. Posted this years ago, I want the best Doctor, Fireman, Soldier, Cook, President and not a lesser bumped up the chain simply because of their race. If a college admissions has more of one race to get the best of the best if Asian, Black, Hispanic, White or Purple so be it.
The irony of all this? No one is a thoroughbred. Unless an isolated group living deep in a forest, there are multiple ethnic backgrounds in each and everyone of us. The mix is a good thing and looked at from scientific view, better adaption survival against disease.

One of the definitions of racism from Merriam-Webster is (and the sense in which we think about it):
- racial prejudice or discrimination
Of which the prejudice portion is important:
- an unfair feeling of dislike for a person or group because of race, sex, religion, etc.
- a feeling of like or dislike for someone or something especially when it is not reasonable or logical
I'd say that fits pretty well.
My bigger concern is that, if we let racism flourish in any community, when the shoe is on the other foot, all it will do is encourage race-based retribution.
When Trump's newly appointed Chief White House Strategist is a white nationalist iconwho has said that he doesn't want his kids to go to school with Jews and regularly ran inflammatory headlines when in charge of Breitbart, we have a fucked up administration and good cause to worry:
Jentleson also cited allegations that Bannon had committed violent domestic abuse and noted misogynistic headlines from Breitbart including “Birth Control Makes Women Unattractive and Crazy” and “The Solution To Online ‘Harassment’ Is Simple: Women Should Just Log Off.”
This is not the extent of Bannon’s racist and sexist record: He has claimed that Roman Catholics want to boost Hispanic immigration to the United States because their “church is dying,” referred to the Civil War as the “war of Southern Independence” (a phrase often associated with pro-Confederate apologists for slavery), said that conservative women are better than progressive women because they’re not a “bunch of dykes that came from the Seven Sisters schools up in New England” and complained about inner-city people of color, saying that “cities could be washed away in an orgy of de-gentrification.”[/quote]
But I suppose I should hold my tongue and not complain until those people that I actually know who are being mocked, threatened, and otherwise harassed in the wake of Trump's election...are physically harmed? Are denied rights? Are interred? At what point would you find it acceptable for me to raise my voice in protest and defiance? I should just chill out over the high profile appointment of Bannon because Trump said "stop it" in an interview on a TV show? Fuck that.
....
Also, on the race stuff: stop pretending that everyone is on equal footing and should be equally judged on their "merit". When you belong to any group that has a long history of being oppressed and marginalized with effects that are still very much palpable today, you absolutely deserve as much support as you can get in trying to better balance the scale. We had an old thread on this here, which I'll refer you to for more of my thoughts (and those of other members) on this topic.

Yep. That's what I meant by "reactionary racism".

That depends on how the agenda is being pursued.

If any of the bolded things actually happen during his presidency as a direct mandate by Trump, then I'll be right there with you as an activist. But right now hate crimes happening due to bigots acting out on their own, because they suddenly feel entitled, you should blame the bigots, not Trump or Trump voters at large. Just like you didn't blame Obama for the NBPP trying to intimate voters on their own.

400+, of which many cannot be verified, as mentioned in the article you linked. Not that some aren't true (which is incredibly sad), but I don't like to use any number as gospel if it's unverifiable.

I personally know of about five incidents that happened on my campus, about two that happened to family members locally, and two that happened to a colleague's brown-skinned grandkids in VA. You've heard of a few incidents in this thread that people have personally seen. None of these are reflected in that 400 number, none of them can be "verified".
The problem is widespread. Free speech, even when hateful, is not really "reportable". We are likely talking about (at the least) thousands upon thousands of people who have been targeted in the past week. Not all hate speech is photographed or videotaped.
