If you mean a single player campaign with a story, no it does not. You can fight against bots in the arena, that's it.

Quake is great, a classic. But Unreal 2 sucks. I say that as someone who beat it. Don't waste your time.

Yeah I think we talked about Quake in another thread recently but didn't see you there... my struggle with Quake is that the few times I've tried to play it, I just instantly want to play Doom instead (which translates to running through entire episodes or megawads). The Doom addiction is real man...

Yeah, it's like the single-player experience in Unreal Tournament in that respect. You're basically fighting the AI to get the most kills. It's...ok, though I always preferred UT's gameplay.

Seconded. Unreal 2 is almost entirely forgettable. If you want more Unreal goodness and never touched the expansion, give Return to Na Pali a go. It's a tough but fun ride.

I beat that, the certain enemies at the end on top of that landed spaceship was over the top insane. Not exactly fun either but I managed it haha. The Half-Life Marines have nothing on them.

Is Blood 2 good?

Red Faction 2 was garbage

Let's not even talk about Perfect Dark Zero...

Somewhat of a trend in some cases I guess!

Now that my new PC is running at full Steam (hah!), I am finally giving Borderlands Pre-Sequel a shot. It runs nicely on my PC and I'm enjoying it. I don't like it as much as Borderlands 2, but the quirky Australian humor that permeates the game is a bit refreshing, even if it isn't as funny as Borderlands 2.

Also, I have to say that in Borderlands 2 I RARELY used Jakobs guns. The recoil and the fact that they aren't automatic always put me off. But in the Pre-Sequel, Nina's ability is fantastic. Finally makes those Jakobs guns useful.

Playing some Fallout New Vegas. Never finished it though I've gotten very close on multiple occasions so I though I would go back and give it a shot.

At the same time though, Aliens vs. Predator 2 was pretty awesome!

Blood 2's big issue is that it uses the first version of the LithTech engine. It feels slow and lumbering, with enemies that soak an absurd amount of hits, weapons that never feel comfortable, and some gameplay elements that just don't work, like poor boss design or the small critters that are basically insta-kills if they happen to hit you. The game also drops a lot of the ridiculous level and enemy designs in favor of a grey near-future dystopia that just comes across as bland.

The other game that used LithTech 1.0 was Shogo, but the lumbering feel made more sense because you were piloting a mech for most of it. Shogo also didn't have the problematic weapons or bad enemy designs that plague Blood 2.

I will say that the Blood 2 expansion, Nightmare Levels, is much better. It brings back enemies from the first game, adds a few new weapons, and tries different themes as opposed to the bland dystopian setting of the base game.

What characters do you typically use? I generally stuck to the soldier-types across the series, and a Jakobs shotgun was almost always equipped.

I am staunchly a Jakobs fan, but I also usually play a sniper in those games. High damage and I can typically put two down range before my victim realizes what I have done. BUT you nailed it on the head Marurun, Nina's aimbot makes Jakobs beyond powerful. It is stupid how good they become, specifically revolvers. Later, you can grind to get a Maggie and have the dual pistol ability and nothing can get by you. Ack and Noise saw the awesome power of Nina specced for Maggie damage. First form of the final boss was down before they got close enough to hit it. She is the ultimate boss killer in that universe - even moreso than babymaker glitched Salvador.
