Re: Games Acquired 2017

Picked these up for PC today. I was going to get them for Vita, but that's only available digitally via PSN. No physical Vita English editions of these exist. So I figured if I had to play the games digitally, it might as well be at an increased resolution and framerate, hence PC.
Anyway there's a buttleton of these Atelier games, I think I own a thousand of them on PS3. But it's a captivating formula with plenty of charm and muh waifus cute characters, so the more the merrier I guess.

I adored Atelier Totori when I played it, but I got tired of Atelier Rorona very quickly. I'm not sure the formula will hold on long enough for me to play too many more, and they seem to come out at a rate of at least one a year.

Yeah there's 18 games released in the mainline series so far. If you factor in the ports/remakes and side games, the release rate boggles the mind. However these games operate off a complete comfort food formula, and I can see how ardent fans enjoy their yearly dose.alienjesus wrote:they seem to come out at a rate of at least one a year.

Yep, 1997's Atelier Marie: The Alchemist of Salburg for PS1. It was part of a trilogy of games taking place in Salburg. Then there were two games taking place in Gramnad. We got none of those in English. It wasn't until the sixth series release, Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana, that we finally got an Atelier game localized.

Re: Games Acquired 2017
The only game I've beaten in the series is Atelier Iris, and it's really good stuff. I haven't put much time into Atelier Iris 2.
Been tempted to get in on the new ones, but there are so many. Yeesh.

I've been meaning to get the "Iris" game, only because that's my daughter's name and I think she'd get a kick out of it. Huh, turns out I do own Atelier Iris 2...

Re: Games Acquired 2017
Wooo Atelier! I've only played Ayesha, Rorona Plus, and Totori (in that order), but I've really enjoyed them and I definitely want to play the rest of the games.
It's going to take me a while to get caught up though. It almost feels like that whenever I beat one game, another two get released haha. Not to mention that there are a ton of older games in the series that I want to play as well. It's never ending!
