D2 certainly earned its M-rating, in my opinion  The story was a bit hard to follow, but I think I got it down. I had a cutscene issue for a while on Disc 1, but I kept trying and trying, and skipped it to a point where it allowed me to pass.

I really need to go back to Q3 and UT on the DC.

I think the cut scene issues were pretty common with D2. I had that problem with a rip of the North American version and, in fact, during one pretty bad instance, it killed my Dreamcast laser.

I own the Japanese version (as it's cheaper and completely uncensored), which is perfectly playable for English speaking people. Just expect the story to be even more confusing :P

My issue is that this particular cutscene comes after a boss battle. So to activate it, I have to kill the boss. I've done it multiple times now, only to have the game hang repeatedly.

Posted this question on another thread, but it doesn't hurt to ask so:
Does any one have a clue why music often starts looping and then dissapears alltogether when I play Typing of the Dead (the US version) on my PAL Dreamcast? Other than that the game works fine, the music just gets stuck, goes dundundundundun for a moment and then goes mute untill the song changes (usually when meeting a boss)
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

Are you playing on an official copy of the game or a burn copy?
I am buying all Saturn games, PM me with your offerings and I will let you know if I need the game or not! (Everything must be CIB)

Currently trying to knock off all the sports games, would like to get them <$5 each! Of course if you would like to donate them I will gladly pay the shipping! :)

Real copy and keyboards made by Sega. No scratches on the disc. It's the only US game I have, but all the Japanese games I play on my Dreamcast don't have problems like this. I have two different boot discs, cheats&codes and action replay CDX that came with this

When I boot the game with cheats&codes, the screen goes black and white. With Action Replay, it has color.

it might be the boot disc.
I have the game and a PAL system which is Region Free.
Will give it a try when I get home.

You might want to invest in a 4-wire modchip or Region Free Bios
PSone, Xbox, PS2, DC, SS Mod Service, PM for details

Yeah the disc swapping is kind of a pain in the ass. Any recommendations for sites that sell those chips (or better yet, modded systems)? I don't have the tools nor know how for modding consoles.

i thought consoles will not play games from different regions?

You can't normally, but some consoles will let you with a boot disc. Dreamcast is one of those.
